Ser Steffon isn't a bastard. He's a Darklyn. He is from a noble House. As mentioned in the previous episode they are looking primarily for Targaryen descendants who were not in the direct line of succession because they had married into other noble families. This episode is a great reminder of the news can be turned to someone's favor. Rhaenyra was the one who is responsible for starving the smallfolk with her blockade but now that she has sent a few food drops now the people say she is thinking of them.

I think Ser Steffen just effed up. If you go back and look at Aemond riding Vhagar scene, she tests him twice. Once when he shows up, and once again when he goes to mount her. The second time she raised her head and her mouth was glowing with fire, but he commanded her once more. Whereas Ser Steffen assumed he had won after the first test, and showed fear in the second.

If they did reuse footage for the first Daemon-Viserys scene, it was a different take then ended up in the first episode. Viserys in Episode 1 was a lot angrier and louder, here he is vulnerable and crying. It's a clever way of showing how Daemon's memory of the event is slightly different from how it actually happened.

Why does that girl keep saying Alicent should've listened to Rhaenyra like Rhaenyra's own council doesn't constantly talk over her? Most of Rhaenyra's scenes this season so far is her complaining that no takes her seriously as a ruler yet somehow whenever team black fans watch scenes of Alicent being underminded its always "haha no one is listening to her" Like do you watch your queen's scenes. They're both getting ignored.

Eh, not exactly the same. It's wayyy more egregious when you think about it. Alicent is the queen dowager and not in the line of succession; Helaena is queen for the Greens. While Rhaenyra is the declared heir from Viserys and the actual regent of the Seven Kingdoms for the Blacks with Daemon just being king consort. So Rhaenyra being talked over by her council and being excluded is far more out of pocket than Alicent having the same treatment - if anything, it's more akin to what they were doing to Aegon since he was the actual king for the Greens being shoved to the kiddie table at his own small council meetings. The only real parallel between Rhaenyra and Alicent in that regard is due to their treatment being because they are "of the fairer sex." Alicent is kinda eating crow for how petty she acted towards Rhaenyra while trying to play her dad's game only to get shuffled out starting the moment Viserys died and fully when Aegon and Aemond took up rule.

Dragons produce fire using oil glands in their necks. That's why their fires are hard to put out, and as Chris said, the flame sticks/coats you. i think the most accurate depiction of dragon flame is in the movie Damsel, where the flame flows more like lava.

I depends how quickly the oil is ejected from the mouth, if it's sprayed out quickly it'd still resemble a flame thrower like in the show so I wouldn't say Damsel is necessarily more accurate. In fact Damsel is probably less realistic considering how easily the fire goes out with a little water, in GoT Lannister soldiers couldn't put out the fire even after they ran into the river.

We really have no idea how dragons produce fire in ASOIAF, but it's probably magical. In the books, the dragons produce fire that matches the color of their body: Balerion produces black flame with swirls of red, Sunfyre makes golden fire, Rhaegal makes orange with swirls of green, etc. And as they age, their fire becomes stronger, able to melt steel and stone. I'm not sure oil glands can explain that.

Before the season came out when people discussed what his role would be most expected him to just hang out at harrenhal for most of this seasons events, as he did in the book. They only have two episodes to do something with it because there was nothing to do for starters, at least not while these events are happening. Hotd will be 4 seasons remember.

Most people hate the Daemon arc but I honestly love it. I'm finally starting to like his character. It's like he's facing all his fears and regrets, he needs to overcome them then book readers know what's gonna happen and I think that's epic. Still think the motherfucking was unnecessary tho.

Also yeah a lot of people clocked the tension between Mysaria and Rhaenyra back in episode 2. In the book it was said that Daemon cheated on Rhaenyra with Mysaria, but I think reversing that for the show was a great idea. The book implies Rhaenyra may be bisexual so this is a good way to explore that, especially with her struggling so much with her gender

Alys Rivers is definitely Red Priestess. Either Melisande or 2nd red Priestess from season 6 who scared Varys. She is guiding Daemon like he is chosen one to unite the realm🙌. In todays 6th episode she gave yet another reference to being Red Priestess. When she spoke to Daemon, she said: " You're not the player, but a piece on the board" . In case it doesn't bring any memory to y'all, try to remember what Melisande said many times to different characters. 1. " I Believe you have a role to play" - both to Jon and Daenerys. 2. " He has a part to play in a war to come" - to Davos in s3e10. 3. The lord brought him back for a purpose, not that purpose has been served " - on Beric. And many more. This is definitely writers giving us a hint about who she is.🙌

Why is there even a famine in Kings Kanding, the city imports its food from the Reach and the crown lands, which are not blockaded. Did the writers not look at a map of Westeros before they wrote that plot point? In the book Alicent shuts the gates because people are afraid of a Dragon attack on the city after Rooks Rest, not because there is no food? Even if there was a famine why shut the gates? Surely less mouths to feed would be a good thing?
