Some people might like this one better because of the button layout, glad there is more quality low price competition in the fightstick market
@HushMySweet13 ай бұрын
That's true! Both your take on the layout and the competition. Actually, someone on reddit just asked about the layout differences. And you didn't ask, but I'm going to leave the same comment here so I keep it on KZbin for easy future reference. "Measuring from the left side of the left function (not the left pinky extra, mind you) to the right edge of the 3P button on both devices, the spacing is not the same. DuelPad A16 is 7 3/4" and the T16 is nearly 8 1/2"

Hey, thank YOU for watching/commenting! I appreciate all your support. And yeah, I think overall button size combined with the slightly different placement of some of these extra function buttons will be how a user would choose between this model and something like a T16.

Looks just like the Haute T16 minus the all 30mm buttons. Even down to that little mini display in the corner and the exact same menu buttons on the top right, albeit there seems to be less of those buttons (not a bad thing. less guessing if you dont have the manual anymore lol)

Nice! I really hope you enjoy it! Give it at least a month of effort before you throw in the towel (around ~40% of the hardcore fightstick/leverless people here said it took them longer than a month to become confident in their execution with these devices).

Been thinking about getting a new all button controller for the HunterXHunter game coming out, especially since I don't have anything ps5 compatible right now. This has pretty much exactly the button layout I was looking to try out as well.

I like this stule of review. My only complaint is jumping between metric and imperial measurements. As an American I actually prefer metric. But I do 3d printing and some modeling so I might be biased.
@HushMySweet12 ай бұрын
Yeah, I have a bad habit of talking about button diameters in metric since most have a familiarity with 30 mm and 24 mm arcade buttons for context, but then will usually default back to imperial for dimensions. I'll try to have both on the screen in my next vid.

looks so similar to the Haute42 T16
@HushMySweet13 ай бұрын
Very comparable with a few minor tweaks: the buttons are different sizes, the footprint is slightly different, and this model has moved two of the additional buttons to different placements (one notably from the left palm to the left pinky area). But yeah, clearly the T16 was an inspiration in their design and pricing. Thank you for watching and weighing in, dude!

Cheers for the video! Are there any good alternatives with a joystick at the A16's price range? DIY seems pricey😬
@HushMySweet13 ай бұрын
Joystick builds usually skew higher in price because 1) you have a lever for your motion inputs and those are more costly than 4 buttons, and 2) because the joystick has more depth than buttons, they can't really benefit from these ultra-thin one-piece PCBs that buttons can hook directly into. So, at this time point anyway, you are not going to see traditional levered fightstick builds come close to these sort of price points. Even from a year ago, getting down to ~$70 for some of these newer all-button controllers while pushing quality forward, is pretty crazy. If you want a joystick build, I would avoid the ultra cheap options like Hori Fighting Stick Mini and commit to paying up for more quality and fewer frustrations (expect ~$200). Qanba has a 20% summer sale going on, Hori has a Fighting Stick Alpha stick around ~$200, and you can usually find quality secondhand sticks on the r/fightsticks discord for around that price. Good luck in the hunt!

0:56 and watch for a few seconds. You can change a couple settings in the web configurator (I'll leave a link), invest in a $30 dongle like a May Flash MagicBoots v1.1, put it in that passthrough slot in the top right to authenticate for PS5. A user DM'ed me a similar comment on discord. I really think it all depends on what a user prioritizes in a controller, but this is what I told them: Cosmox has a bigger catalog of devices so you can likely find more (small S line if you like portability and M line if you like metal). If it's the choice between the DuelPad A16 and the T16 Crystal then both feel extremely similar. If you like slightly smaller buttons and that left pinky function, then go DuelPad. If you prefer larger buttons and the left palm function, then go Cosmox. The prices are also similar. If you want your own art, then FA prints laser-cut art for most Cosmox products, but if you'd like the ease of new caps from the same place you order your controller from, DuelPad. Also the layouts aren't quite identical, so measuring from the left side of the left function (not the left pinky extra, mind you) to the right edge of the 3P button on both devices, the spacing is different. DuelPad A16 is 7 3/4" and the T16 is nearly ~8 1/2". Not much in the grand scheme of things, but might help you pick one over the other. If your hand size leans smaller/average, DuelPad. If they lean average/bigger, T16. Both are solid options at the end of the day though. Hope that helps!

Hey dude! So out of the box, it does not, but it is still capable of playing on Xbox hardware. See that pass-through slot at 1:00 ? I used a MagicBoots v1.1 dongle for PS5 play, but a user can also use an Xbox equivalent dongle. Then, hold start as you plug in your device to your PC, and go to the web configurator settings by typing out that 192... number in your url bar, and confirming Xbox play. Easier than it sounds.
