Another great parody movie is Black Dynamite. Before watching it, you should prep yourself with a Rudy Ray Moore movie. As a comparison, before doing either of those, you might want to check out the bottom rung of parody movies to see how easy it is to get them wrong. For that, I would suggest any of the Friedberg-Seltzer movies like Epic Movie, Disaster Movie or Meet The Spartans. It's amazing how "wink-at-the-camera unfunny" they truly are and they make one better appreciate the good parody movies out there.

This is one of those movies that has 150% going all movie… and you don't even get all of the jokes and puns on a one go. Still missed one of my favorites, in the beginning when they are in the monk village when Topper says, "These men have taken a vow of celibacy, like their fathers and their fathers before them." Also, I love that both Charlie Sheen was doing his narration from "Platoon" (1986) and his father Martin Sheen doing his from "Apocalypse Now" (1979).

This is in my top 3 favorite parody movies of all-time, and agree this is even better than the first Hot Shots. Though you all got many of the references, there are so many others' that were missed since you weren't around when this came out. The kill count is a reference to Commando, where Schwarzenegger and company got criticized by family advocate groups for the amount of people he murdered and maimed during the climax of the movie. I remember them actually having news segments where reporters had counted how many soldiers were killed on camera. The movie held a Guinness World record for highest kill count in a movie for awhile.

Some other Charlie Sheen movies that I would recommend: 1) Scary Movie 3 2) Young Guns 3) Wall Street 4) Red Dawn 5) Platoon 6) Major League 7) The Rookie 8) Cadence 9) The Three Musketeers 10) Men At Work It’s too bad that they stopped making Hot Shots movies. Charlie Sheen has such a great gift for comedy. I’m sure that he could have done some great additions to the series. Maybe he could do one now where he spoofs The Expendables. Bring in a bunch of older comedic actors from the 1980’s to play former soldiers turned mercenaries with Tupper Harley as their leader. That could be totally hilarious.
