Thanks for the review, Lisa. I am one of the creator of The Wild & Sacred Feminine Deck, so I thought I would just chime in to clarify that we did do The Mother's Wisdom Deck (Sterling 2012), which we wish was still available. This deck was created to reincarnate that work at the invitation of Shambhala. Some of the cards are the same to carry forward the best of the previous deck but have been expanded to embrace the feminine as a whole. Half of this deck is entirely new. If you loved the previous deck, you will love this one too, possibly more! And, if you are new to our work, we hope you enjoy!

The Phantomwise Tarot is 100% the vibe of the Night Circus. At least with how I experienced the book! I read the book so so long ago and from what I can remember, this is the tarot deck that's in the story. There is a presence of tarot in that book!

I LOVE the Night Circus and the Phantomwise Tarot ties in very much with the aesthetic of the circus and builds that world. When I finished reading it I wanted to be in the circus and the tarot will let me. But I think it will totally stand alone (so you don't need to know the plot to get the most out of it). Can't wait for the deck.

I'd previously backed it because I want to learn Thoth (I have a classic Thoth deck on the way too) but wasn't sure how close Marea would be to the classic. This helped me feel more secure about backing this one and now I'm even more excited! p.s. I backed Witch Cats oracle (I also have Spirit Cats) and love it! For anyone on the fence about it, it's totally worth it. Lovely bed-time deck or (as I use it) a deck for those dark emotional days when you just need some reassurance.

Hello. Chiming with a response to the previous hot takes. So, a uni friend of mine texted me couplee days to show off the AI he got to play around with, and tried out a few things on my behalf. What I realised is that the AI 1) requires quite a bit of work to set up. 2) has limitations 3) has to be given a specific yet not wordy task (which can be tricky) 4) is to be worked with in a trial and error kinda way. So no, you can't just tell it to return you 40 oracle cards because you asked it to. You've no idea just how far away we are from the technocratic (dis/u)topia.

I'm so glad you included the Power of Yin Oracle from Kickstarter! It still has so far to go in its funding that I worry it won't cross the finish line, but I'm keeping all fingers and toes crossed! The Wild and Sacred Feminine Deck looks to me a reprinting of The Mother's Wisdom Deck by the same author and artist that went out of print a few years ago. I got my copy out when I recognized the Hummingbird card and sure enough it is the same.

What...? Sorry I was busy windowing out to check the decks I hadn’t seen yet... omg I love that alpaca deck sooo much!!! I’m super tempted by lily stones deck. Hopefully I can find some extra monies for it. I adore her work and her stone Marseilles is one of my fav decks. I’m super tempted by the shadow moonchild. I’ve been attracted to the others but slightly off in some way for me unless I had money to burn. I adore my serpentfire and she Wolfe tarot which feels like it fills that space for me in a more true way, but the shadow version feels more up my alley. I’m normally not a collage person, but somehow lately I’ve 180d and some feel very cool to me. This month seems more intense to me lol. I’m drawn to many of the decks but the aforementioned are my favs. Pretty stoked on the yin tarot and have been following it too. Omg so fun! It’s really fun to see what everyone is excited about. Wild and Sacred Feminine I think is by the same people who did the Mother’s Wisdom Deck, which has been OOP for a while. This one looks very similar, though with a slightly different concept, so that’s exciting. For the Night Circus Tarot, the circus is mostly black and white, but in the book there are pops of red throughout that I wish had been worked into the tarot. I love that book, but I’m not sure I’ll get the tarot. And omg I think I might need that Shadow Moonchild Tarot! I so wanted the original Moon child to go more vintage and dark like some of the cards look (some of them are almost vintage pastel goth if that makes sense), but from what I heard Noelle sort of changed the vibe after the first few cards she created. This one looks slightly more popish but so beautiful. I love the colors!

I've been away for quite a while. Anyway ... I noticed a upcoming deck ... that was created in kind of a happening. It's just the majors ... but I'm exited about what you may think of it. Because your reasonings and reactions towards decks have been quite helpful and inspiring. And possibly the magic the deck radiates is something you might appreciate. The deck is currently crowdfunded at Ulule and called "Autumn Enchantment Tarot". The pictures were created during a Radical Faerie Gathering. I'm still not sure ... if the deck is for me. On the one hand ... there is being a RadFae ... on the other hand being a tin person (at a dark place).

The Bosch Tarot seems to rely heavily on Bosch's most famous work, the Garden of Earthly Delights. This painting is a triptych (three panels connected like a window with two shutters), i.e., it opens in the middle. I like the box that seems to honour the triptych effect :-) and I'm a fan of Northern Renaissance so here we go... There was a Lo Scarabeo Bosch deck that didn't call out to me but this one... Thank you for bringing it to my attention. And thank you for saying so openly when you're not enthused by a deck. You always respect the decks and give them room. That works so well. I love your hot takes.

I read the Night Circus a month ago (give or take) and fell in love with the world Erin Morgenstern created. So much so, that it actually influenced me to purchase the deck she made that felt like a continuation of that world, in a tangible way. The Phantomwise deck is what actually led me to you and your page and to find a love in tarot! Ever since I ordered it I've been following your series Tarot with training wheels and really embracing the practice. I think if you love the book it's a nice little piece of the world she created, a way to keep the story going forward not retelling it. It's not directly related to the book so there's no spoilers, but the color scheme is a direct part of the circus in the book and it has an Alice in Wonderland feel making it feel like it's your own personal piece of the story that's just yours to live in. :)

I hope more people back the Marea tarot. It comes with a great booklet that distills a lot of the information on the cards, and a foldout of the tree of life and other stuff - it's amazing both for beginners and for those who already love and use the Thoth.

@@TrioofWitchesTarot Yeah. Ever since I've moved to Canada I've come to appreciate the immense entitlement we Americans have when it comes to affordable shipping. Shipping of this deck to Canada is the same, since it ships from Europe. I totally get not supporting something because the shipping is high, but us Americans need a big reality check - this is what the rest of the world experiences when they back decks created in the US! PS I haven't even started on the import duties (!!!)

I liked the Night Circus! I suspect you will too. I don't think the jacket description about 'dueling magicians' is really what it's about -- it's definitely more atmospheric than adventurous in my mind. The deck doesn't appeal to me personally style-wise but a deck based on the book is an idea I like.

I preordered the Phantomwise several weeks ago actually, despite not having read The Night Circus. My intention behind ordering it was to try a black and white tarot deck. Since I really connected with the imagery of this deck, I thought I would be able to segue into using a black and white deck more easily. We shall see!

Honestly, I finally got the Moonchild as a new to me deck like two weeks ago. And then I saw this. I don't know, but the colors seem so much richer to me. I am so tempted as well. I felt the same way as you for the Gentle Thrills Tarot and that's because it used to be Indie and Hay House picked it up. So, it's possible that you have seen it before. For the Crystal Magic Tarot, I also really want to see more photos and how the minor cards will be but if you have Good Karma Tarot the guidebook is written by the same author, so, I feel like the guidebook will at least be good.

That first deck uses some of the same art as the Mother's Wisdom deck which is OOP. I don't think I'll get this one as I'd not want the same images with different key words. And I love the mother focus of the Mother's Wisdom and use it every month. I wish they'd bring THAT deck out mass market. So many people want it.

I would say see if there's a newsletter or Instagram account you can follow for the creator so you are kept up to date! :) Often there are opportunities to pre-order after the campaign when decks are closer to being able to ship, but I don't know for sure!

I decided against Shadow Moonchild bc cards I liked were changed, ones I didn't weren't, although I prefer the darker version. I'm getting Meraki 2nd edition KS any day now w/ her Crystal deck which meets my crystal/Tarot needs for awhile o/w that one might get me (with way more info). Really trying to low-buy if not no-buy 2023 to appreciate what I've got after the chaos last 2 yrs (eta: the exception being SKT! Been waiting on this for years)

I’m so tempted to get the Shadow MoonChild and I probably will but it’s funny because I prefer the white backs with gold accents, rather than the darker colors, it just looks so classy to me in white with gold but maybe it’s just bc I’m so used to the MoonChild in white & gold, I don’t know, BUT I absolutely love the redesigns, like veiled ladies in cards just give me life, come on now lol… I definitely think I will ultimately end up buying this deck!
