In this video I go hot tent camping in snow. This was the first time I have gone hot tent camping in snow in June. I used my OneTigris Smokey Hut hot tent and my Pomoly T1 Mini stove. The weather on the first day was beautiful but the next morning it began to rain. I decided to bring only freeze dried meals on this trip to make cooking easier. I had a great trip and I can't wait to camp here in the summer!

I'm addicted your videos for couple days. They create enormous peace in me. I'm woodworker, first I noticed your video because of the sound of saw on wood (I can't spend time with wood for some time & hearing this voice was amazing for me ☺️) and even I'm not a camping person I'm thinking to join camping groups! Really thank you for sharing this peace 😊👏👍

Не умею я по другому! kzbin.info/www/bejne/jKLKZ3SNisZ6pas

@@HikeCampClimb Of course, come, we have where to take a walk, the country is big))) Although it is better to start getting to know it all the same in the summer, because we have places where even in summer like yours in winter - and this makes them even more interesting. The Polar Urals alone are worth something, or the Khibiny on the Kola Peninsula! If you are interested - contact, I will give you a hint and tell you what, how and where))) We are also not professionals, and we also like to take a walk)))

I love the idea of digging out the snow. It gives you added headroom inside and a shelf for cooking/prep. I presume you pre-measured the cordage before hand to know how big of a area to excavate? The small downside is that you needed to prep a different length pole than what comes with the tent but that's hardly an issue in that terrain. Just a little hint for measuring your wood to length - put a couple of marks on the saw itself and you will have an instant and handy measure.
@HikeCampClimb
@HikeCampClimb 2 жыл бұрын
I love the idea of marking the saw! Yeah, it was nice having more room inside. Teepee tents have a big footprint but the roof angles make a lot of it unusable. I did measure the cordage off camera but I was still surprised how well it worked out lol.

@@HikeCampClimb The way the Inuit made their igloos was to have the entrance dug out/lowered and the sitting portion was the shelves. Cold air settles and provides an air trap. It seems that if you sleep on the higher portion (where you don't need the headroom) and work in the dug out portion that it would be a touch warmer and dryer for sleeping.
@HikeCampClimb
@HikeCampClimb 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that would be the best option. If it was colder outside I probably wouldn’t have even bothered digging it out lol.

It's strange to me that I couldn't see the ground even after you scooping up the snow with a shovel. There is only snow that keeps piling up. 😳😁 However, it made me interesting again that there are wasps in the cold winter. Where is there!?! Uhh?? Hahaha😄 Finland? Or Norway or Sweden? Really good :D What a interesting world 🎄🌍🌏🌎

"This is the worst of times like these" he casually thought and with steel resolve he steadied his hand for another bite. Your comment, and assessment of his take on that pizza made me laugh out loud!! I've been there! Have a pre-packaged meal in my pack that I couldn't wait to finally be able to eat. First bite----well, eating the package would have been just as tasty. 🤠Take it easy!

Why did you elevate the stove? I expected it to be on the lower level since heat rises. Enjoyed the video. Nice scenery. Motivates me to go explore Mount Hood more. I do most of my dispersed camping in the Mt St Helens area.
@HikeCampClimb
@HikeCampClimb 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you and welcome to the channel 😀 I elevated the stove for two reasons. First, my stove pipe is not long enough. If I had dropped the stove down that far then the chances of sparks landing on my tent and burning holes in it would increase. Second, I get too hot lol. It was only 36 degrees F at night and the temperature at ground level inside the tent was about 70 F and 85 F at the top. It was 55 F where I was sleeping. I brought a 0 degrees sleeping bag so even at 55 F I was too hot. This was my first time camping at Mount Hood and I really liked it. I camped near Alpine Campground just a few miles from Government Camp, OR. I have camped in the St Helens area a few times and I like it there also. This was a nice change of scenery though.
