You need a lot of balls to customize a Hot Toys figure. The final result was worth it.Great job Chris.

I was thinking that too !! Like wow he did a great job but damn ! Some of us , even though we can afford , it's hard buying hot toys .. I wouldn't even mess around with paint hahah and the custom base is cool .. not sure I'd use actual dirt though

Right? If I bought one I wouldn't touch it. That's like 400$

Seriously creative man, and the finished project is killer! Crazy what you can achieve with some shoe polish and a foam base. Keep it up Chris, you deserve way more subs for this level of content

I would usually agree with everyone else that you're a madman for going in on a $200+ figure, but you're natural at this shit bro. Inspiring me to try and give some of my own figures a bit more life. Keep up the good work Chris.

Wow that knightmare Batman is absolutely beautifully done. Seriously gorgeous chris. I myself have been customizing toys and collectibles since i was about 5 years old, my first ever custom being a marvel legends Spider-Man figure that i drilled holes into to fit doctor octopus's tentacles into, because i had just seen the 90's Spider-Man cartoon episode that has the many different Spider-Men, including the one that had doc ock tentacles on it, all the way up to today at 19 years old, where i sculpt, paint, and straight up create my own figures and collectibles, and i have to say, seeing you're customs done so well is really inspiring, and shows how much better things can look when you pimp em out correctly. I painted my mattel DC multiverse Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice Batman that was horribly painted, im sure u remember how badly the color gray was done on the batfleck suit, it was a very light and shiny gray color that was completely innacurate, and as you know batflecks body suit color is a very dark gray with some nearly black parts on it, so i was very unhappy with the color, and so the best thing i could think of was to completely repaint the body suit, by mixing a darker gray, a tiny bit of matte black for a base coat (because if u look at batflecks body suit in bvs and probably even justice league, it has some shiny bits in the fabric fibers, and i believe the in universe reason for this is because its a titanium weave fabric, im almost positive its titanium, but i could be wrong, but its the reasom the suit is bullet proof, similar to the black panther vibranium weave suit, but it may be DC's fictional "unobtanium" metal thats kind of like DC's vibranium/adamantium equivalent) and after that base coat, i then dry brushed a matte black with a very small bit of metallic silver over the matte gray base coat, and it truly turned out beautifully. It really looks like the batfleck body suit, and the dry brush really brought out all the beautifully designed body suit fabric texture, wrinkles and folds, it made the mattel DC multiverse Batman look fantastic, and considering mattels figures are poorly made and poorly painted, articulated, and poorly sculpted in general, i couldnt believe how well done it turned out, the metallic silver drybrush really made the whole piece into something great, and i also painted some dirt, mud, and grime all over the cape, mostly the bottom cuz that bit obviously drags on the ground. Honestly, i was never a big DC guy, i find marvel to just be far superior in literally every way, from characters, to stories, to villains, art, movies especially, marvel made the two best comic book movies of all time in Captain America Civil War, and the even better instant classic, by far the best comic book and or superhero movie ever made, but i always loved the conceot of The Avengers Vs Justice League, and so my display that features my custom Batfleck is an Avengers vs Justice League diorama/Display, and i made it using alot of techniques i learned from chris, like the expanda-foam for concrete and broken buildings and streets, so i just wanted to say thank you chris for teachinf me all these amazing techniques ibe learned to apply to my custom dioramas and displays for my godzilla figures, and my movie Avengers vs Justice League diorama display. I love your channel chris, and i love your content, ive learned so much!

great vid! just goes to show how little toy companies need to do to their figures to bring out so much more detail, they have the sculpt half the time they just need the extra touch of shading and they look 50X better.

Also I'd love to get into customizing things but it could be dangerous like you said about slicing your fingers. My grandfather just had an accident a two days ago where he cut his fingers off while working outside, guess he wasn't being careful enough and they couldn't get his fingers back fast enough so they couldn't attach them anymore.
