I own one and this chrome finish reminds me of a polished steel. In my headcanon maybe at some point clones needed a heavier, but sturdier armor made of steel to withstand ballistic projectiles or to protect against enemies focused on melee.

Not bad looking, I like it more than the silver chrome but still not enough to add to my collection. When I see these chrome figures I can't help wondering why they don't go with chrome weapons as well. I think that would definitely add to its appearance!

I do believe the helmet is accurately proportioned as shown in Attack of the Clones. If you look up renders from behind the scenes in orthographic perspective, the helmet was rather big compared to the body. Great looking figure, just wished they had a version with added grime and dirt on top of him. Somehow shiny new does not feel SW to me (unless it's droids straight from an oil bath).

To me this trooper looks more like a trophy piece meant to stand on its own in the office on a desk somewhere. Kind of like a gold statue that represents clone’s valor but not a living being in itself

Awesome review! This particular figure in the metal line is cool, but it's hard to picture a clone going into battle in such a flashy uniform. They should do more character clones or go all in on old Republic. Also if they do a line for the Revenge of the Sith 20th anniversary there's a lot to choose from

Great review... I'm in the same camp with you. These don't need to exist. I'd have far preferred a slightly weathered basic clone with a head sculpt... even generic. Or something else that's screen accurate. Save for the Kenner Fett, the gimmick releases don't really impress me. I have still gotten all of them except for Cody; however, they don't integrate into the collection well. I've put them all in a "special collection" segregated away from everyone else. Fett was easy because he fits into my Specialty Fett shelf-- Kenner Fett, Holiday Special Fett, Arena Fett and Promotional Photography Fett. Thet look awesome together. I'm hoping that they one day make the White Prototype Armor Fett to round out the group. Where the Chrome Collection is on a bottom shelf, the Fetts are front and center.

Not really working for me, I own the Silver one and I like it but not enough since the phase 1 helmet is abnormal so I always use phase 2 and it looks like they did the same thing on this one. I could do without the same thumbs up hand and the double fingers I would rather have close fits because I have never used those two. You are right they have not improved this figure at all just a new color scheme and that’s not enough for me to buy it so that’s a pass, if I find a deal on it then I’ll buy it to display it with my Silver but for now nah. I much rather would have Commander Gree or a different battalion Clone.

Chrome figures are so damn ugly, I cant even. Still loved watching though! I understand they do this sorta thing to make easy $$ on an existing mold, but I wish theyd just create more individual clones that we dont have, because it largely just takes a new coat of paint. Why on earth does a republic/clone trooper have a Mandalorian jetpack?! And yet again, the phase 1 heads are too big in the films! It's just a bad bobbleheaded design with too much negative space making it look pencilnecked and vertical lines making it look very topheavy. Don't you wonder why in the films they then did everything to change it, first with the paintjobs then by going to Phase 2?! Chrome troopers are the Iron Man Neon tech of the SW world!! 😉
