My tub was not heating up. So we turned it off to conserve energy. While it was off, the tub starting leaking and the breaker kept tripping. I found water leaking out of the ozonator. That I think I can correct easily with a new check valve. My question is, could the check valve issue also be responsible for the tub not heating up? Or is it two separate issues?

So if the check valve is good, how do you check the proper functionality of the ozonator then. I have got a Calspa with Ultrazone by balboa. There is a power LED on the ozonator which is green when on, so that is good, but how can you check that ozon is going in the SPA ????

Have a question my ozone unit quit working as the check valve has failed and it was tripping the breaker. I have a new one on the way. Which direction should the check valve arrow be pointing up or down?

I just replaced my ozone unit and made sure that the check valve is in the correct way and for some reason when I put my main pump on low, bubbles won't come out but when I put it into high speed the bubbles start to flow. What could be wrong? any help or advice would be a big help!

Some check valves or jets require more volume to create suction and bubbles.. Make sure the jet is clear with no obstructions.. Some pumps will not take enough pressure on low... Is your pump 115V?

@@SpaGuy I believe the pump is 220 the spa is hooked up to 220, if that makes sense. Could it be that the pump is getting weak with age? The spa is just over three years old. It gets used a lot.

Thanks for the awesome video!! Could you help us out further. We believe as we had ozone during checking..the tubes just seem to be very old n deteriorating on.us...looked like some had melted rubber inside... can they be replaced? How difficult is it? It's a hot springs spa. Over 10 years old. Part near ozone control and check valve both tubes looked this way. Thanks in advance!!💜💖💜

Once the check valve is replaced get the water out of the ozonator and it will usually work again..

Can I leave the ozone plug off the board and the jacuzzi on? I’m waiting on the part to arrive, and we are supposed to get freezing temp in a couple days.

Yes an Ozonator is not needed for any hot tub it is an add on..

There is blue and green parts, mine is blue - does it make a difference? I need a blue one. It fractured at the end and was leaking water inside the service compartment.

Would the ozonator cause my hot tub to stop heating? Cause the ozonator use to glow green and is dark now.

An ozonator has nothing to do with heat..

would a bad Ozonator keep the breaker from staying on, and does it really need an Ozonator

Unplug it and if the breaker stays on that was the cause..

Hi Spa Guy, I came across your video while searching why my breaker is randomly tripping. I did have my water level too high. It was tripping like 2-3 times a week. I barely reduced the water level to a normal level - 1 day ago. So far, no tripping. I had an electrian check the breaker and he said it was ok. This hot tub is at a cabin in the mountains and getting a service person up here is very expensive ordeal. My ozone generator is hotspot watkins freshwater III. It does not look the the one in your video here. Does it expire? I will check my checkvalue like you showed - maybe that is an issue or maybe my water level was it. I don't know. just seeking any advice you might have. thanks in advance!!

Ok. I bought a used Morgan Malibu a couple of years ago. I watched some of your videos and my nephew and I wired it up. We removed the ozonator and I just recently bought a new bulb for it. I installed it yesterday and plugged the J&J plug into the end of the control panel. I didn't open it up. The Ultrapure generator has a fiber optic cable thats glued into it. The other end had come loose from the little window near the controls. We hotglued that back in a while back. It might've popped out again because I'm not seeing light from it. I'm at work for two days, so I'm going to order a new check valve and install it when I get home.
