Great video! I’ve been thinking a lot lately about getting one of these for a low-cost at-home ice bath and the fact that everyone is posting about it on KZbin is a good sign! The only thing that I’d be worried about is if the plastic emits or leeches any dangerous toxins into the air or water but I’m guessing that shouldn’t be an issue if everyone is using it! Heck, because of your video I might not just use it as an ice bath, but as a hot tub too!

I would *HOPE* it doesn't leech toxins into the water- it's a 'stock tank' for drinking water for your horses, etc. They are FDA approved as food grade.

Yes. Single use clean water each time. The tub gets scrubbed prior to each use.

Looks good, but I think spray filling while leaving tank uncovered during fill, may contribute to heat loss.

Yes, although if you set the temp at 115, 120 and fill, it's hot. I do my thing rigjt away and add warm water as needed. The outdoor temp is a factor also. Sometimes I will cover as I fill and that retains heat. The beauty of the on demand tank allows for new hot water as needed at your desired temp.

@@MargaretGilbride I have a wood soaking tub. Definitely going to go the on demand route. I have a (once) great old Chofu propane unit but it’s unreliable- keeps shutting off. Videos like yours have helped me make up my mind to switch it out.

Need recirculating pump to feed tub water back in to heater. Otherwise it's using new water all the time.

Yes and no. I use this as a single bath. It gets fairly gross after one use, with the salts, skin and debree that gets in there. If it were a bigger system I would consider all of that. It stays warm enough to fill and use.

Single use outdoor bath. You decide the wayer temp. Outside air varies as well. Very safe again as you control the water temperature. Advantage is a lovely relaxing outdoor soak. Disadvantage. In winter, it can be cold or wet, so plan accordingly.

@Themaskedbeliever thank you for asking. This is a stock tank made for animal drinking water. It could be possible for that to happen, yet I doubt it. I would need to check the ratings for the stock tank itself. So, I hope not. Yet I can't say for sure.

Will the hot water heater shut off or will it run Non-Stop I've watched other videos and sometimes they say it'll shut off every 20 minutes to prevent overheating

It has not automatically shut off yet. I have seen that on other videos as well. Usually it takes me 30 plus minutes to fill. So I do keep an eye on it during the process and have had no shout off problems.

Awesome video, I also want to get this tank for ice baths but I'm debating on whether I should get the 150gal or 100gal. I'm about 6'1. I just need to get to neck level. I have to order it online so I can't go in an sit in a tank at the store. Any advice would be appreciated.

For you, I would say the 150. It would be bigger as you are much taller that I am. Do you have any feed stores nearby? If so go check it out in person, so you really know. I am in a rural area so that was fairly easy for me to do.

So easy to clean before use. Soap and a scrubber. I do that before each use. Otherwise YUCK.

These are standard tanks that you can purchase most places. I have 20 and 40 gallon tanks.

As you are filling the tub it gets heated through the propane system. If already in tub, no good. You can make different setups with copper and fire, yet that looks expensive and complicated, so I went with this.

Bet the water gets cold as that shower head would take forever to fill that tank.

If using on demand propane it is super hot. You can set your temp and go. About 20 - 30 min to fill.
