These came out really nice. I have done the HWI with liquid dye but I was thinking about it and here you have these beautiful results! I dye in my kitchen and I like the pouring the hot water over better than the sprayer as it splatters! I’ve tried it with the SA in the dry dye and I find the colors are not very vibrant. Great results! And love your excitement!

An easy way to do this is to mix ash and dye together - much more ash than dye and it will depend on color or amount. It spreads VERY easy this way and you use less dye! You can use a garden sprayer to mist the shirts rather than pour and it will disturb the dye placement less. Try putting a little dye in something like a plastic jar, crushing a shirt into it TIGHT, add maybe a little on top, then adding hot water with ash on top. You can get some pretty crazy patterns as some dye bonds better than other depending on location. Lots to play with! Also, you can microwave wet shirts to heat them too for different effects...
@TishTV2 жыл бұрын

there is hot water immersion, i did a video on that as well. that is where you put the garment in a conatiner with dye powder and soda ash and pour hot water in the conatiner and let it sit til it cools. i like your idea of dunking in hot water, how will you keep the dye powder on the garment if you dunk it? @@TishTV hi, after you reversed it, did you soak in sa for 30 min before adding powder or liquid dye and hwi process?
This was 10 months ago and I would like to know more about the liquid dye one. Have you found that it gets perfectly saturated just doing the top at times? It looked like it was when you turned it over on the little one but not on the big one but not sure. Love, love, love your videos. ❤❤❤
@TishTV2 жыл бұрын
welcome back!! Yes if the garment is small and not too bulky one sode is plenty. I rarely do both sides, unless it is a really bulky item like a blanket. I do one side and am very liberal with the hot water. When i only do one side it really saturates the color so it has vibrant patches and very subtle patches. I hope this helps!!

When you're a tie dyer by profession i think HWI really helps when you want to deliver in a jiffy and also the vibrancy was at its peak not to mention the volume of water you will consume. But will this method work if you use different colors on the other side of the t-shirt?
