Pantyhose stretched over your color cup also makes a good filter, if you're married or have daughters you know how fast those are tossed out for new so you always have a constant supply. Just stretch it enough to have tension but not too tight that the weave opens all the way up. It's easier to make a filter from pantyhose than cut one out of a full-size one, I know from experience. Good video and nice job at the end.

Killer!! My first car was a 74' Nova. I ended up having two more through the years. All 74', all 2 door, one SS and one was a hatchback. If I could only have them now. Maybe one day. I'm building a 63' Cadillac Hearse and hope to have it done this summer. You should do a hearse if you haven't already. Keep the videos coming, glad you're feeling better!

Would think quite a bit of red then little bit of black would of given the black cherry look. Watched a vid of a guy doing motorcycle gas tanks and covers. He used black then Clear coat then silver before it dried he put plastic wrap on and it made the black show through in a cool pattern he then painted a translucent candy blue came out FANTASTIC. He also did a gold and then candy red the same way. Might be cool if you could try this technique on your cars.

Hit it out of the park again! Too bad the Black Cherry didn't work, but hope you try it again in the future. One tip/idea I have, for the tail lights. If you want a bit of "pop" to those tail lights, paint the tail lights with a Chrome pen (molotow) first, then for the red lens use some Clear Red paint (Tamiya). Of course you would have to brush it on with a very small brush, but I know you can handle that. :-). Makes the red look translucent like a real clear red tail light. Great job my friend. Loved this episode. Glad you are back to good health. Tell Jimmy I said "What's up?"

Hey! Happy you're feeling better. Say, as far as customs, have you ever considered dropping the wheels and giving the car a look of competition suspension? When I was a kid we usually modified the suspension as a means to transfer the engine weight to the rear wheels. I think that would give the car a good look. I'm sorry after all that work, mixing, measuring, etcetera the car didn't come out that well. The dark red original plan sounded better. It did come out pretty nice though. Stay well.

Some paint mixing insight. Balancing clear is pure Binder and resin. Which a lot of pure pigments, metal flakes, and mika's are missing. Pre mixed colours have a ratio of balancing clear already in them, which is why you need to mix/shake them.

Any video with you live or otherwise would be awesome. I have started hot wheel restoration with some real beaters. One is a Gran Torino Stocker from 1970's that has severe gouges all over the body. The base is plastic and the front has a piece missing. They second car is a 1970's rodger dodger. The body cleaned up pretty well, but the base was plastic and trashed. The 3rd car is a 1970's Heavy Chevy. This also cleaned up ok and has a metal base. The 4th car is a Mustang Stock car from the 1970's. It has severe scratches in the hood and would take a lot of sanding which would destroy the metal body. The base shined up pretty well. Would like to send you some JPG images to see what you recommend. Haven't started painting yet, but I think I will follow your lead and do a silver primer coat followed by an enamel looking paint as most of the cars mentioned had enamel type paint. The wheels I may take from the M2 car kits that they sell at Wal-mart, or I will buy some more medium and large redline tires from the redline shop.

I think black is a tricky colour to mix up with lighter colours for that exact colour, also considering it's only the second attempt with these paints, trial and error wins overall success. Once you get used to these paints I'm confident you will find the exact measurements you are looking for. The purple through the black still looks sweet and the sparkles on top are the icing on the cake, looks awesome👌😉 Jimmy seems much happier in his new abode, he just needs to find a sweet hot rod chick now😂
