There's such no difference in disappearing and dying though. They're kind of synonym... Because the both of them means they'll be "canceled" (no longer be seen or touched) from the face of the world. Agh, I mean, since spirits cannot die, they disappear. It's like the death of a human for a spirit, and the disappearing of a spirit it's like the death of a human. If you know what I mean.. It's really sad, but it's a true fact.

@@kittenn_whiskers In reality, if he had been a HUMAN, it would have applied to him too, but he is a spirit, an immaterial entity without a body, what I'm saying, dying (counts for humans) practically means that the soul leaves the body , however, since they do not possess one they simply cannot die, instead, they actually disappear, meaning that the soul vanishes from the earth. So the meanings are fair, for the two species (earthly and spiritual), but they have different meanings and processes. I hope I explained myself well!

I wish that happened, but i think that would ruin the feal of the story. The story is very sad, but adding on to the story would be overdoing it. Anyways, if Gin came back, he would have to go through the pain of seeing Hotaru die. He ages fairly slow, and Hotaru will just one summer not show up at the forest, because she died.

I mean, every lines of the song's lyric fits the anime perfectly. I'm paralyzed when I heard "One breath, one touch will be the end of me". This is sad, but it is so worth watching. I never watched the anime before but I think I definitely give it a try after watching this AMV. I would rate both animes and AMV 10/10. Really nice work.

As tragic as this beautiful story is, I feel at peace knowing that Gin is at peace. Ofcourse I'd love a happy ending where Gin and Hotaru can be together forever, but that's not the message of this story. Gin didn't cry because their time together came to an end, but smiled because it happened. As heartbreaking as their final moment together is, it's perfect. Gin said himself he wanted to see her so would end up in crowds and would eventually touch someone, Hotaru knew that he might not be there the next summer she came. They could never touch so it could never work in the long run, not for them not for anyone. However, the peace comes in knowing that instead of Gin dying as baby, before his time expired he got to touch Hotaru. Its not just the touch, but their touch symbolises their love. The reason Gin was not sad to leave but rather happy to finally hug Hotaru is because Gin lived a life where he loved and was loved. That's what I feel is the message of this tragic yet beautiful story. Life is short, but it can still be special. It's not the length of time that matters, but what you do with that time. Though Gin's life was cut short he lived a life full of purpose and meaning. He did not die as a baby, but lived a meaningful life worth living, a life where he loved Hotaru and was loved by Hotaru. That's why he is at peace when he passes on and that gives me peace.
