I'm not surprised by the precision results- even though it is a closed bolt carbine, and was designed as a closed bolt gun, it really was designed for "late WWII SMG" accuracy. But, is that the loudest disconnector reset you've heard? Good Lord...
@alun70064 жыл бұрын
I think with better sights it'd probably do a lot better?
@geodkyt4 жыл бұрын
@@alun7006 better sights that were higher and held a consistent zero (which means that barrel lockup has to be consistent), especially if they could be individually zeroed, would likely help a lot. But, honestly, I doubt that level of accuracy was a KPP in the design request.

@Andrew Cummings Exactly. "Minute of Viet Minh" at 50 meters.
@alun70064 жыл бұрын
@@geodkyt Fair point. But sights that were just easier to use would have been more effective in general, don't you think? A big ol' ghostring that you could easily acquire would be better than the tiny awkward thing actually used.
@geodkyt4 жыл бұрын
@@alun7006 a larger and easier to acquire ghosting is faster, but less precise (probably a net advantage, given it was an SMG.) However, a ghost ring aperture doesn't change the fact that they are stupidly low and hard to get centered behind. And a ghost ring rear won't help much if the front can't achieve a consistent lockup due to that telescoping feature. Tiny peeps are slow to acquire, but a tiny peep that holds zero with the front sight and is at the right height is still better than a nice fat ghost ring that can't hit consistently or is a weird and almost unusable height.
