When people claim to have heard from God, you also have to line up whatever God spoke to you with scriptures. Fela said God said I speak through prophets, but Fela is not a prophet. Please look up Hebrews 1:1-2. In the old testerment God spoke through prophets, but in the new testerment God speaks to us in Christ. So you don't need a prophet to speak unbalf of God any more. In the book of Acts 2:17-18 It shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions and your old men shall dream dreams. When God said in the old testerment that "The Lord does nothing except He first reveals it to His prophet, God was strictly refering to old testerment times, because none of them back then was born-again, so God could not speak directly to them individually, hence the need for prophets. Now the new testerment prophets are not suppose to operate like old testerment prophets, the responsibility of the five fold ministry is clearly spelt out in Ephesians, "For the perfecting of the saints" and you can not perfect (mature) saints with prophecy, but with solid teaching of the word.
