The mini xtomp does not store more than one effect at a time. Correct? If so, does one need to delete a saved effect to load the next effect onto this pedal?

Yes it loads via Bluetooth so one at a time. It’s not intended as a preset device, more of a Swiss Army knife to become what you need it to be as a compliment to the rest of your board.
