Thanks for this video, Mike. I have a similar Hotpoint dryer, with the same symbol showing. I'll open it up and have a look.

It certainly worked for me. If you look at the later video in the drier saga series ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/qausnKR3fd2Fibc ) you’ll see I got so fed up with doing it I cut a hole in the side of the machine to access the third filter. It made life easier! Thanks for working 👍🏽

I'm about to buy a very similar hotpoint dryer (without the auto-clean function).... Do you recommend buying Hotpoint (since when do you have this?) ? I noticed that other brands have some sort of removable condenser... And they seem to be easier to clean...
@MikeMakesIt3 жыл бұрын
Hi Akaoveve, we have always bought Hotpoint and by in large they have been fine. We have had 3 washing machines and actually 3 tumble dryers and always try and buy better than the last one. The heat pump type drier is great compared to the condenser type so I recommend you go for this type but not necessarily a Hotpoint. When we change up to a new dryer it may very well be a Hotpoint but before I commit I’ll be checking out the filters! Thanks for watching 👍🏽

Hi Paul, I had a problem with a green tiddly wink that moved clear of the blockage area and your view when you went to look up the pipe but when the water wanted to get away from the washing machine the wink was a perfect size to totally block the discharge pipe. It took a couple of goes to fix that one! As always thanks for the comments and of course watching 👍🏽👍🏽

I believe it is saying clean the door filter. I think this is normal after the drier finishes its cycle.

My mum and dad have this same issue with a black crease care hotpoint tumble dryer. how come it get an issue now? we only had it for 2 years.
@MikeMakesIt3 ай бұрын
Two years is a long time for a tumble dryer! It’s possible you have a different problem. The condenser fins also got blocked on ours and this involved a total strip down and clean. I don’t remember having to clean the 3rd filter for a long time into the life of the machine though.

Hello! So far I've cleaned out the pipes and filters, changed the pump (£40) and the sensor (£20) and still the bloody beeping continues. I even went as far as drill a hole in the drain reservoir to drain automatically. I suspect my final option is to replace the control board but I'm not keen on spending more money. The joys...

Hi, in the end we bought a Samsung! My experience with past machines is when I start buying spares it ends badly 😕 (£££)!
@khalidwa110 ай бұрын
I just returned a Samsung washing machine for a faulty leaking seal they tried to make me pay for, saying it was wear and tear after 30 days 😂. I ended up paying £100 more for a Bosch. They all fail, at this rate I’m going to be washing my stuff in the local river.

Hi, on mine the drum (Door side, not the rear) runs on plastic shims, a type of bearing. I suspect they are worn though and the drum is running on metal. I can't remember if you have to dismantle the machine to replace them but it is a simple job as they just click in. Here is a link to a similar set of bearings. It the front ones that may have gone on yours but if it's a kit I'd them all. parts.hotpoint.co.uk/tumble-dryer-bearing-kit-j00128972/p?idsku=71362&infinity=ict2~net~gaw~cmp~1734263261~ag~69703538284~ar~338112688735~kw~~mt~~acr~2906947770&gclid=Cj0KCQjwqPGUBhDwARIsANNwjV7WX4mHWW_UGhbt1rThTl01Ywti428ZTSTfJtI_ISaqILmSrllRPAIaApCaEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

Hi, all the issues I had were around the filter I mention in the videos. I have released 4 videos in all with regards the drier. Have you checked them all out as they may give you some more info. I’ve since upgraded to another d have the manuals but from memory the symbols are related to the filters.

Hi Mike, I have this exact same dryer, and had the exact same issue, which was fixed. The dryer has now started to stink of mould. Have cleaned it out thoroughly, including the filters and the hose. Any idea, as hotpoint are no help With a dryer less than 2 years old, I really don't want to have to replace it

Hi. On mine at the back left hand side where most of the pipes exit is a little tank which will fill with water as the machine works. At a certain point the machine will empty this water. There could be a build up of debris there or more likely it's in the area of the third filter. A load of fluff with gather in the base just before the filter and it is very difficult to remove. I resorted to a stick to clear it. The smell will be coming from wet fluff as apposed to the cooling fins beyond the third filter. I'd take a good look around and before this filter. Have you looked at this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJuaequtobSfeZo I suspect this will be the issue. If you do remove the cover to get to this filter make sure the drier is unplugged. I hope this helps and thanks for watching 👍🏽
