That thing really responded well to the zipkit! With a shorter bar and/or in the size wood that saw was really intended for it should be a ripper especially being as light as it is.

All the things that make a chain chatter were going on in these cuts. Hard wood, aggressive chain, and small saw. Were there other factors? Seemed like the chain speed was going pretty good for such a little saw and oversized bar and chain. Very good comparison video using that chain with the two saws. Even better might have been a top handle 200? Have you done much work with the MS150?

Sir, I am a new subscriber to your channel and I want to tell you you are putting out some great content. I love the video quality, content explanation, and your overall good cheer. I was wondering if you could do a video showing how you sharpen your saws and the types of chains you run. The chips flying out of your saws indicate you only work with a well sharpened chain. Another thing your subscribers would find useful is how know when to resharpen. Do you sharpen by hand etc? Thank you very much and top of the evening to you.

warddan2002 hi. It's not so much the method the chains are sharpen as it is the angles on the teeth. It can take an hour to file a chain if the bar is long. I started grinding because in the wet & cold, filling is a pain. It was more efficient to pack a couple extra chains and just throw a new loop on and go. I touch up teeth from time to time. But let's face it, the days a getting a good files are long gone. Thanks for watching.

Hey excellent vid Jack. Seems like it pulled that bar a lot better. Might be a stupid question but what does insanoized actually entail? Being from uk seems to be more of an American thing maybe?🤓
@Fabzacres
@Fabzacres 6 жыл бұрын
It refers to the level of modifications to the saw ... Jack is famous for his insane-0-ized saws ... I have a 241c that’s been insane-0-ized and it’s a lil ripper when dialed in .... iirc he offers several choices from mild to wild

@hotsaws101
@hotsaws101 6 жыл бұрын
Nick hi. This one turns ~ 16k no b & c with a very noticable blubbering at high idle. If it's limited, then the stop is set purdy far out there. The owner will have this saw shortly. Hope he weighs in with his thoughts since he has, I think anyway, 2 other stockers. Thanks for watching.

I wish you'd go back over the videos to do cut-time-comparisons because while relative-RPM is neat and all, the real attribute that matters is how fast it cuts through a given piece of wood! Was pretty blown away to see the cs2511 do so well relative to a 200 especially w/ a >12" bar on it as 25cc's often lose such a high% of their power to bar&chain friction-loss (not such a problem >40cc's but is on 25cc's!!) so gonna do another googling to see if I can quantify/make objective just what the "insane-o-ized" mods consist of as I'm building a very comparable saw to the 2511, already expect it'd beat a stock 2511, really want to push it!!

Does anyone here know how to adapt the echo 2511t to a stihl pico 1/4" Chain with either a stihl or sugihara carver bar , how do you get the sprocket to line up, ?
@hotsaws101
@hotsaws101 6 жыл бұрын
Aaron hi. Unless there is something I'm missing here: Get the 1/4 chain compatible drum/sprocket - A556001710. The stud diameter on the Echo is the same as the Stihl/Sugi as seen here. The heal/mount is a little different on the Oregon bars it seems. Need a 120SDAA041 drum/sprocket for the 12" dime tip 535045 or 12" quarter 535047 bar/s. Thanks for watching.

Aviator007 hi. That "wood" depend on multiple factors. Bar length being one. The dealer you want the patronize. The weight. Whether you want a pro version saw or not. How patient you are while waiting for the saw to cut as well. Thanks for watching. Thanks for watching.

I’d like to see it run with the 12 inch bar it came with, I’m betting less chatter with the shorter bar, with the balance point of the saw being changed with the bar length I don’t think it likes the extra nose weight, with the saw case being so light, just my two cents.

Maybe instead of running such a big blade and chain on the echo switch it to something smaller and thinner? I notice some guys running what looked like 1/4 pitch picco like what I run on my pole saw.
@TimberTrainer
@TimberTrainer 6 жыл бұрын
1/4 pitch chain runs much smoother, as well as a cleaner pruning cut. Sugihara makes a nice lightweight 12" Carver, and Stihl PM3 works great on the baby saw. Bailey's also has a decent 1/4 - .043 chain, but it needs some sharpening out of the box.

Jamison Timberfalling to run a 1/4 " chain what kind of sprocket would you use
@TimberTrainer
@TimberTrainer 6 жыл бұрын
The 2511 has a rim sprocket attached to the clutch drum. Your local Echo dealer should be able to get a 1/4" sprocket for you. I got an early start on most dealers by ordering a few sprockets from the UK last year. Back then, nobody had a clue about 1/4" stuff in the states. The dealer, Echo rep, Oregon rep, and Echo USA all told me that the 2511 only runs 3/8 chain. They are starting to catch up now. You can order the sprockets and bumper spikes directly from Echo. Oregon is working on a 1/4" bar, but don't expect an .043 gauge, it will probably be .050 only. My current setup is a .043 carving bar with Stihl PM3 chain. Cuts real smooth, with slight power loss while back chaining / top chaining.

John hi. I was looking at the second run with the ms200. Yep, had a correction that was needed here - thanks. I ran these two again with the carb dialed in a little bit more on the Echo. It came around and was giving the 200 fits. This wood is loaded with rocks. I've ruined a few chains in this wood lot. I did look at the teeth afterward, they did seem to be suffering. Thanks for watching.

Ocean View Tree Services, I've got a 540xp, as well as the 2511, both mostly stock except for bars and chains. The 540 definitely cuts faster, and handles larger wood. The 2511 is so much smaller and lighter though, so it gets used twice as much.

John hi. From having spent quite a few years on the end of a pistol grip, felling timber on the Coast as well as inland, from Washington state to the border with Mexico, I would disagree. I routinely have my "stops" set really low and we looked at that part in a couple of the recent videos. It's the teeth being set up for a different application. This will rob even more power. So if your trying to show gains in performance having the teeth sucking up more than normal hp is one way to do it. Thanks for watching.

I have the echo cs2511t. I am very unsatisfied. The stihl equivalent will run circles around the echo. The echo's have a high speed "burble" that cannot be tune to go away. It's a reverberation problem in the intake manifold. The engineers tried to band aid the situation with the bumps. One more reason for me to stay with the best. Stihl.
