You can easily control color gradients using a color sop. Pick 'primitive' as a Class and In the drop down menu 'Color Type' pick Ramp From Attribute and then pick or type in the zscale attribute. After that you can set your own gradient in the Attribute Ramp.

In Blender, Primitive Cd doesn't work like u said for C4D, it has to be a point attrib. Great tutorial!

Hi thanks for the amazing step by step tut! I am having an issue with Redshift not displaying the material, looks like it is not seeing the Cd attribute and only showing a black glossy material. I have double checked the settings in the Attribute VOP, Normal and attribpromote, but they seem identical to yours. Any suggested fix? Houdini 18, latest redshift

FIXED: I created a new camera and it worked, I could see the Colors, for some reason that was messing the render view.

My Bind Export isn't working, there is no change in height. How do I fix this

If you middle click on your nodes you can check attributes! Be sure that it's correctly bind exported and that the attribute is in the correct field (primitive and not points) Also you need to check that the attribute name is matching the one in the polyextrude
