These are great, ive been learning Houdini for a year or two and am using it for commercial projects, im looking at all of these from start to end, they are so thorough, calm and well explained, they fill in gaps that are sometimes skimmed over to leave you with a proper understanding, you're a great teacher, keep it up, thanks

This is exactly the sort of comment that I hope to receive on these videos. I massively appreciate it. Thank you

I have to say that the way you explain things is spectacular. I'm not a Houdini user, but watching this explanation is makes difficult things much more digestable.

Hey, you guys haven't added vellum II and now this to the Playlist. Just reminding ya'all of it. Anyways, very exited for these new videos, it's definitely much MUCH better than before and I am ever so thankful that you have released them for free (and thanks to the patrons too who have made this possible). You guys are the best! Also, you look even more stylish than your last video haha. Pretty cool

Instead of shift clicking on inputs you can choose the node with Shift+Enter and it will be automatically connected to previous one. You can also hold J to connect two nodes.

Will u also cover VEX coding in houdini? Apart from this please make a separate video for how to import camera tracking inside houdini from after effects or any other composting software🤗, whenever u got time. U r really amazing and I know how much money other resources cost for teaching. I really appreciate u for that bro🙏
@NineBetween Жыл бұрын
Hey! Thank you for the great comment. I'd recommend checking out "VEX isn't Scary." It's a series I made a while ago, which covers VEX for beginners. Importing a camera track is dependent on the software that it is coming from, but the general idea is to import an FBX or Alembic that contains the camera. I'll try to cover it in a future video. All the best!

So when my head explodes here because I just understand so little, does that mean Houdini is not for me? lmao
@NineBetween10 ай бұрын
No! Definitely not. It probably means I didn't explain something properly. With a little more practice, you'll definitely understand it lol

You are not the only one. I am starting out too and there is a lot more math and number visuals than I expected, also a lot of keywords! They say it take 1000 hours to be good at something, but I think this may take double the time. I do these HIP Tutorials on my days off of work. Hoping to be relatively okay by 6 months. Best of luck!

when i unpack everything disappear, someone knows why?

Great! Could you do another tutorial with dop, not sop?
@NineBetween Жыл бұрын
Hey! When we look at FLIP fluids and Pyro solving, we'll be doing more DOP based solving. Those two really benefit from understanding what's going on under the hood, so we'll get into it in detail.
@fexvfx Жыл бұрын
@@NineBetween alright! Perfect! I just love the technical aspects of houdini. I want to go more into dopnets, vops and especially vex soon ^^, because there I obviously have more control over geo etc.

Im running into an issue with the glue strength constraint. It seems like the value of the primary strength doesn't actually affect anything for my cube. Apply constraint properties is checked and it seems like everything else is the same. Anybody else run into this issue? Edit: I recreated the file and found that it worked as expected. I probably missed a setting somewhere, or clicked a checkbox I shouldn't have. Great video!
@PBCSandMarci5 ай бұрын
i had the same problem, for me it was because i only plugged in the first node output for the unpack instead of all 3 into the bullet solver for whatever reason

I like the houdini tutorials, but people could do more contents approaching the workflow inside a pipeline. We see many tutorials with the same content almost 100% of times in youtube/bilibili/sidefx site. For example: I saw a volcano tutorial once and the explainer created a vex code for the color of the particles based in the velocity, but the node particle fluid surface already does that. This is why many artists know VEX, but lack in the basics.
@NineBetween Жыл бұрын
Hey, I agree. More advanced tutorials or tutorials on pipeline are far more niche and less catered to the general audience. Those tutorials do exist and are done well, but the general consensus is to make Houdini more approachable and then expand upon basic understandings. Series like this one allow people to watch masterclasses and/or paid content and follow along. For example, Applied Houdini would be a good point to continue from here. I am going to be releasing a Solaris series very soon, which is about USD and pipeline rendering with Karma. Hopefully, that opens up the opportunity for more series like that in the future. Thanks for the comment!

this is for beginner or intermediates
@NineBetween Жыл бұрын
Hi! It's for beginners. If you start at part 1, I explain the basics. However, if you're intermediate, you can jump in at a later part.
