At the age of 17, Xander Stok planned his suicide attempt in detail. ‘Because of depression you end up in isolation. You start living in your own world,’ Xander begins his story. 'I remember feeling alone and completely misunderstood at the time. I was standing near the shore, planning to end my life. I started swearing at God. I was so pissed off. I said, “If this is it, you can keep it God. I can't take it anymore.” I don't know what I had expected, at least something, He knew I was serious. Instead I heard nothing... But at the last minute, a quiet voice came into my head - a voice I've only been able to identify for the last three years. It whispered: "If you're already dead, you might as well choose something you've always wanted to do." Then I thought: making music.'
Xander decides to turn around and postpone suicide. 20 years of rock 'n roll, addictions and severe depression follow. Until the day, in the midst of the worst depression until then, God - or 'Papa' as Xander usually calls Him - intervenes and frees Xander. That is the start of something new.

What an amazing testimony! My only regret is not coming across this channel earlier. I have been seeking more God honoring videos that speak his words into my soul. My dear brother in Christ, it is truly a miracle that your depression left , like an instant vanishing mist! Some people have terrible withdrawal symptoms from ending their RX prescription pills suddenly so I suppose Jesus had you completely protected and your life in the palm of his hands. One of my favorite verses is Psalm 73: 26-28. May you continue to grow close to Jesus and endure in this race. He is faithful!

UPDATED 5.10.23: Xander, anointed man of God, your gift is going to touch the world. Like the loaves and fishes that Jesus multiplied to feed the many, your surrendered life and willingness to lay your music down at His feet, whatever the cost, will be used to “feed” the many (spiritually-speaking). Through taking the living Word (i, e., scriptures) and allowing the Holy Spirit to guide your songs, you are releasing life, joy, and hope to all who will listen. You are a vessel who is bringing God glory by providing a way for all people to be changed by the truth of His Word, many of who would never otherwise open a Bible to read it. The Word of God is a gift to humanity and we are changed through reading and meditating on it. You, my friend, are a mouthpiece for the Lord God Almighty, Himself….what an honor. Your testimony is beautiful and inspiring, and you articulate it so well. I feel the Lord guiding your words when you share. You learned one of the most important aspects of the Christian walk, and that is to live a life fully surrendered to the Lord. Your humility, honesty and surrendered heart will take you far with Him…just like King David. Your worship will lead others into intimate encounters with Him. You are a vessel for the Lord, and as you daily surrender to Him, you’ll find that He will open doors you never dreamed possible. Your songs from the Book of Isaiah have been transformative for me, and I feel God’s presence so strongly when I listen. I encourage anyone to picture our beloved Savior, Jesus, hanging on the cross of salvation, dying so we could live, while listening to the most passionate part of ‘Isaiah 43 Pt. 1: I love you.’ Receive those words from Him of how very much He loves you, in the good times and in the dark times. Your story and your attitude really touched my heart and that also when you call God "Papa" Your close relationship with Him. I tried this. Your songs means to me a lot. Now I have a strange prayer request to you: I never thought that God let happen something like that in my life. It is not His fault. I don't know do you have enought faith for this or do you know someone who has faith for this prayer... If it is according to God's will He can do but if He dont want He dont do. I need someone who has faith for this... This is Jesus said: "Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give." I pray for someone resurrection. Did you read before worse request than this................... Who can help? I cant see hope for this miracle. I thought nothing can help this problem after came to my mind God can.... I don't have enought faith. I just remember the young boy in the Bible Jesus did this for him... Jesus is the same God!
