The first high end product I ever bought was hourglass, it was 9 years ago. I was 21 and was able to afford to buy a few products from Sephora . I loved their packaging and was obsess with the line. I wore their Icon lipstick for years but I was never able to wear their complexion products. Over the years, I never was offended because majority of cosmetic lines were the same as in only catering to the light-tan shade range so when you are dark, you just accept it and keep it pushing but Hourglass is so bad because after the Fenty fiasco, instead of trying to change their brand to be inclusive they instead purposefully push fraudulent “inclusive” ads. They pander by posting dark skin models, photoshop their makeup shades in their photos to make it look more darker and inclusive when they are selling the same light shade products . I would always run to get the new hourglass product but everything shows up so white on me.. it’s like I was begging to be in the cool kids club. I’m over it.... I’m a shade 410 in Fenty for reference.. I’m Not even that deep and their products are really ashy and light on me.. their blushes are light ashy highlighters on me!!!! which makes it crazy that Hourglass is allowed to be in Sephora . Sephora needs to be held accountable as well

Chica, I am NC42 and was so excited to see this new palette with deeper skin tones. Thank God for youtube as I already own all these shades and they are not for deeper skin tone. Thank you for speaking out. I will not be buying from their brand until they make this right. It reminds me of my deep skin beloved grandmother not having deeper tones available to her back in the day..... can we make this issue go away in 2021?

I didn’t know anything that was going on with hourglass. I was never really interested. I saw the Ad with a darker skin woman was was so excited. When I heard they did some funny business, I couldn’t believe a brand would do that! Ive only used their brow pencil which was damn good! It’s sad that all skin tones aren’t represented.

I’ve never purchased anything from HG but they can’t get any of my coins. In this day and age how can you not cater for brown skin? They’re missing a HUGE market. Take Gucci for example look at all the foundations shades they came out with. I hope HG are taking notes, thanx for your review 💕

We've been asking Hourglass for years now to release deeper shades for those of us with some color. At a time like this, it seems they R more about the money than anything else!! They were & R misleading & I'm certain they're aware!! Again they just don't care..it's a whole pandemic outside & this isn't the time 4games.. Frankly I prefer Guerlain!! I've been boycotting HG for some time now. I'm sick of them refusing to be an inclusive brand. If the beautiful model, used in the promo pics, were to use this product on her skintone - you wouldn't see it! This product is too light for my light med skin so it's an insult to POC 🤬

Not only did they try to sell them as new shades. I didn’t appreciate the fact that they had a women of color on the promo. I was excited til I looked into it further. The shades are nothing like in the promo picture. I have lost all respect for the brand and will not give them any more of my money.
