Being fair and owning/using radiant bronze light as a single, I already knew the bronzer in the deeper palette wouldn’t be deep enough. I know the blushes worked but I’m still so disappointed in HG and won’t purchase from them until they make an actual improvement (which is good because I can save some $$). As you obviously know, several brands already have good bronzer ranges, including new brands, so there’s still no excuse IMO. Everyone should be able to experience HG products and the fact of the matter is, so many people still can’t. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m glad you have such faith in them. I hope they do better. I agree with you I’m so over Hourglass I still that think the palette isn’t inclusive enough. I am not buying from them until they truly do better. Chelsea is giving them waaaay too much credit it’s been years and years and this is the best that could do? Wow!

Agreed, Talya! Hour Glass consider deeper skin an afterthought. So sad in this day and age. Diversity and inclusion should not be an afterthought! It says so much about this company. I don’t know if I will ever buy anything from them when there are so many companies out there who get the assignment. Makeup/beauty should be inclusive.

That's the biggest reason I haven't been able to rationalize buying a palette when the bronzers won't even work on me. I'd rather try the makeup revolution that's supposed to be a dupe than spend money on HG who consider people of color as an after thought.

I am glad Hourglass appears not to be completely tone deaf, and you’re right - they can still do better. I don’t know if I will take the plunge and purchase the lighter palette. I am quite perplexed as to the reason they only went with five shades in the two palettes.

It’s so nice to see someone so forgiving and open minded when reviewing a brand that others slammed so hard. Holding a brand accountable is very important but also giving them a chance when they take feedback and try to fix the problem. Like you said they still have room to grow but this is a nice improvement. Great review!

I loved your review Chelsea. I agree, I'm looking forward to Volume 4 for richer complexions. Since they've proven that they can do it, keep going in the right direction. Also, I would love to see next year a true light/medium and tan/deep face palette with AT LEAST 4-5 new shades. I didn't buy the face palettes because I felt like the one you bought didn't have enough shades to work for me. II do want the single of that vibrant prink blush though.

I think they need an entirely new deep. I’m slightly lighter than Chelsea and love these colors. They need to do better with a deeper palette - maybe only the one blush can be the same. Progress though!

When I saw this title, I got so excited thinking hourglass listened to everyone finally. I'm disappointed the bronzer in the one palette wouldn't work for deep complexions. It looks beautiful on you and I am glad they did do some deeper tones but they still need to do better so I hope they continue to do more. Thanks for the review Chelsea. I too feel that HG is listening, but can always do better. I bought the Volume 3 and I too can use the 1st two shades as bronzers or the 1st shade to buff the perimeter of my face. Which makes me happy because the palette is truly for Dark and Deep skin tones. For anyone wondering I'm Dior 4.5N-5N, Mac NC47, Fenty 385, Chanel BD101. I now know why people go so hard for these powders they are gorgeous. I'm now looking at buying the Unlocked palette....

I love the finish of these powders but I used to only be able to wear them when I faded in the winter. This palette is gorgeous. They need an entire third palette with blushes etc. its not fair to expect darker people to buy both the unlocked and the trio to get everything perfect.

Hi dear Chelsie, lovely to see you back. My heart still tight for Mel lost , and her family is in my thoughts and prayers. About hourglass I agree with everything you said. I’m shade twin of Jackie ainda and andrea Rene, and the radiant bronzer and radiant powder I always use them as highlighters . Because they are to ligth on my complexion. And it shows the glitter particles. I just bought the new trio and I’m yet to try but looks good, and the 5 pan I really want because of the blushes. Hourglass powders are unique , I have full collection and blushes in my make up kit, so yes I have been waiting to be able to use them on me like I use on my clients with lighter complexion. They are stepping in the rigth direction. But still need to do some work . That radiant bronzer in that pallet spoiled what could have been a full glorious comeback from them . I wore the Lawless foundation today and I love it. It’s deff not full coverage. But it’s a great solid medium It does run light and a little yellow on some. I got one Shade up and neutral rather than warm. I adore their lip liners. Their forget the filler gloss is amazing too

Love your review. This palette looks great on you I’m wondering if it would work on my skintone NC30-35. That deeper blush might not work on me though. And, the lighter one looks too light, especially that Infinity powder. Finally they created a a Volumn 3 for deeper skin tones. I’m thinking they are starting to go in the right direction. I will miss Mel. She was a bright light. I followed her for years. I used to copy her eye shadow looks on my notebook, and referred to it all the time. I also loved the Tiny Marvels palette she created.

I have very fair skin. I usually buy their larger palette for the holidays. This will be the fourth year I’ve gotten the Hourglass Holiday Palette. I was so happy to see deeper options this year! I’m so glad you did this video, because I did get them both and was wondering if they would even show up on me or how I’m going to use them. I see now volume 3 will have to be used in a different way other than what it was meant for, but that’s ok too. I do think that hour glass is going to have to do better as far as shades there is no reason for them not to unless they just want to cater to fair skin only, we have other brands that support darker skin and we don’t have to support them, I’m one that has supported them when they first came to Sephora and I have no problem with stopping. I'm your skin tone and sadly the bronzer in my unlocked palette didn't show up at all no matter how much I built it up. The finishing powder had too many gold sparkles that you really notice when you go out into the day light (seemed more sparkly than there stand alone finishing powders) but it looked ok indoors. The only shades I liked and could use were the two blushes and the highlighter. 😔 All these new face palette releases that have been less than perfect makes me appreciate my MAC sculpt and shape pallete ... It's so underrated.

Hi dear Chelsea, you made a wonderful video again after such a week, wow, and the eyelook!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩 Lawless foundation, i don't believe we have it here in Europe. But Hourglass, they have such a great powder formula, and sh*t they know it🙃🙃🙃🙃. I see improvement for you, and also other friends here with gorgeous deeper complexion, especially the blush and the highlight in the palette, but the bronzer is a joke for your beautiful complexion of course, and even more for Victoria....The palette of 3 colours is better, good for you as i understand, but of course we need a 4th because there are so many people with deeper complexion than yours! But happy that they finally are starting to listen to all of us, when it comes to gorgeous deeper complexions. For me? No purchase. Who puts a deeper bronzer in a lighter palette? Hourglass.... And about the lighter palette, i understood that the finishing powder was quite shiny, and i have stuff enough still from them, i love most a very very soft highlighter from them, forgot the name, as well as my dimlight finishing powder, ohh and that palette of 3 colours in the lightest colour (volume 1?) which they had to make years and years ago in ALL colours of course! It gives such an elegant glow to any complexion, like you say, Chelsea, and they know it! But not a purchase here, first want to see that volume 4 from the palette with 3 colours, and further i really dont need anything from them.They could have skipped the stuff for light complexion and do their best best best very best for you, Victoria and others!!! I'm glad Hourglass came out with the Volume III but I'll admit that their lack of response around the Volume II controversy or even acknowledging the Volume III was a major jump for inclusivity for their brand was disappointing. I still have mixed feelings about it, but I'm still happy for those who have been waiting to try out their products. How does Hourglass make a palette for deeper skin tones and include the same light bronzer that didn’t work for deeper skin tones in the first place? STUPID! The last thing I need is another $80.00 palette with shades I can’t use the palette is another bust to me. People with medium skin tones can use it so by all means Enjoy!

i get so irritated with the disrespect from hourglass. they reserved the volume 3 for darker colors but didnt release the popular unlocked palette for us ?😐 the only thing that would work would be the blushes. why release the other palette with an old bronzer?? we keep screaming for bronzer and they give us blushes lol yes the volume 3 are great looking finishing powders.. but why not give us a palette w/ a bronzer with blushes and a new finishing powder? strange behavior for sure.

Why didn't they use a new deeper bronzer shade in the big palette? Well, it makes people buy both palettes looking for a bronzer shade. Hourglass knew what it was doing! It's a cash grab designed, as others have said, to appease the allies who boycotted the company after last year's deception. If they wanted to do better they would.

Chelsea you’re giving Hourglass waaay too much credit! It’s been years and this the best they could do giving us a face palette with an existing shade in it that already didn’t work for deeper skin tones in the first place ? It’s a travesty I’ll give them another 10 years and maybe they’ll reach my Mac Nc50, Nars Macao skin tone. I’m so glad I don’t have to relay on Hourglass Cosmetics for my makeup. I glad you’re excited for the palette anyone with a medium skin tone would be so by all means enjoy.

Hourglass can go to hell, those shades are still bad and if they wanted to make deep bronzers they could. this is going backwards, we're going into 2022 and we still having these issues.
