I feel for the guy that needed help with his dad's house. Living abroad or a distance from parents makes it more difficult to check on hiw they're living. They can tell they're fine, but they can be lying because they are embarrassed that they can't manage. And for the adult child, it can be overwhelming to take that on. Im glad he got the help of thise two wonderful ladies.

I give all these cleaning people a lot of credit!! But honestly it breaks my heart to see that there are these elderly or extremely sick individuals who DO have family members that live close by to them and don't help with the everyday cleaning or picking up of their home so that it wouldn't end up like these homes!!! If you have an ill, elderly or dying family member..... HELP THEM!!!!

A lot of these elderly people can be stubborn and not want anything thrown out. I'm sure the old man with the papers from 1961 wouldn't have let the SIL toss his things out. Good that they left for three days.

I cared for my mum till her death I can tell you the time, stress, and difficulties I put up with! The arguments it’s so challenging, and I’m still recovering, I also resided with her, no one else was game to visit regularly reflecting back I don’t blame them

I recently brought a home from a senior. In my opinion cleaning wasn't the senior priority. Because I found couple of empty boxes of vodka in the house after I purchased it. I also found salon business cards with appointments written on it. The home was filthy with stained rugs that had a HORRIBLE odor. I had to literally scrub clean and take out the rugs. Now the home looks so much cleaner and smells better too. I understand some seniors can't clean because of medical reasons or because they can't keep up with cleaning.

Once the poop gets onto the toilet rim, you need to be committed for observation. Seriously… I don’t clean anywhere near everyday and my apartment doesn’t look like this… and i’m very introverted so i’m in my apartment most of the time, but even I can wipe food off a stove… like honestly how do you just leave shit on a toilet and rotten food splattered on your stove. All you need is a piece of scrap paper at the very least to wipe it off and if you can’t do that you really shouldn’t be living on your own anymore… If you can’t wipe a counter top, cognitively you clearly cant fend for yourself to be 100% honest…

It's true, my Grandma born in 1895, who was widowed wasn't well off, she lived in a two up two down home with three children during the 1930's but her home was spotless, her front step was whitewashed and her windows were gleaming.

When my dad had flats. I'd help him to clean after tenants departed. The worst was either when a tenent died in the flat or when the tenant smoked. And in that third house. they should have had protection.

Aside from mental and physical health issues, maintaining and cleaning your space is integral for your overall well being. Little things daily such as making your bed cleaning your dish, etc. helps in keeping clean.

I absolutely loathe cigarettes, butts, tobacco, and anything to do with them. So I really feel for you guys, Filth, and best thing I can suggest is a couple of proper protective masks with the correct types of filters needed: I'm thinking Organic / Chemical filters, but I'm not certain as I'm not an expert; I've used them but forget the specifics.

I always wonder how a toilet can get that dirty though. Me and my roommates are very lazy sometimes, and the loo not getting cleaned for half a year happens, but it just looks bad IN the bowl and under the lid. The person who lived with that toilet must've repeatedly shat all over it

I am on dialisis 3 fays a week and on more mental health medication for my mental and physical health than l can mension.But my one bedroom apartment wich is far from minimalist gets cleaned every single day. Usyal takes about two hours. Not eveyone has to be like me,but yo get to the level of tbese people tbere is absolutely no excuses!

These cleaners do amazing jobs but for goodness sake, they need to wear goggles when getting up close and personal with biohazard waste. Seeing them scrubbing dried on debris on that toilet had me envisioning tiny bits flying into their eyes.😬 And the yellow/brown staining in the smoker’s home is mostly due to the tar in cigarettes. Because e-cigarettes, which contain nicotine but no tar, don’t leave stains.
