the video was shot about a year ago. this is from the house demolition site, where we demolished one detached house. there are currently two new detached houses on the lot.

When i worked in demolition we would strip the roof for the slate/tiles and joists/rafters to sell as used. . Brick and block work could also be re-sold, as well of any insulation. Excellent video , thanks for posting.

Ive sorted all sorts ofaterials in demo, but never once have i heard of or seen anyone scrape the felt and tar off a roof. Usually it just gets put in the same trash pile as anything that isnt metal or masonry.

Talk about a smooth operator. Not only a great operator but a comedian also. The timber frame could have been removed with a vacuum cleaner 😆👍 I've was in remodeling houses that were 100 years old or more and never found one that bad. If ya would have left it for a few more years the mold would have ate the rest of it. Glad your video did so well, with all those views ya could pay for a new home. GREAT JOB !!!

Hello there! I'm a brazilian living in Japan and one of my line of works was house demolition! Here we rarely see Volvo bullldozers and normally is used Caterpillar and Hitachi machines! Separating the bricks is really the only things we separate from C&D because bricks can go to an Innert landfill for 1/20th the price. The rest goes in C&D. Usually you save a little bit more by getting as much as possible in a container. That’s where a tracked excavator really shines in a house demo. You can push it over, get on top and walk over it to break it up while you break it up with a bucket and thumb.

Yeah. demolition work can be done in many different ways. here the bricks are recycled, crushed and used, for example, in the structural layers of the road. 👍😀

It is not usually used plywood behind bricks here. There was a paper on the surface of outer insulation in the video. Purpose of that paper is wind proofing. Another way to do wind proofing is to use some kind of asphalt panel between insulation and bricks.

Around here, we would’ve used a Cat 963 and knocked the corners out of that house and had it on the ground in about 8 min or less. 30 min of crunching it up, and after lunch time would have a clear lot and it would all be in the landfill. Rip the damn thing down already and haul it off.
