RE: Fairport NY House Fire (from local Rochester TV station WHAM): Apartment fire in Fairport under investigation Units arrived at Railroad Street around 12:30 p.m. for the report of a house on fire, and found fire coming from the first floor window, near the kitchen area. The initial crew that arrived at the scene was able to knock the fire down quickly, and saved a dog from the second floor of the house. There was one resident who was transported by ambulance to the hospital due to a medical emergency, but their condition is understood to be stable by firefighters. The house sustained enough damage from the fire to be deemed non-livable for residents. The cause of the fire is still unknown and the investigation is ongoing.

@@cfrt999 You don't truly understand how valuable a quick and efficient fire dept is until you need them. There was a kitchen fire in an apartment in my building about a year and a half ago. By the time I got pants and shoes put on and got out of the building the fire dept had already responded and put out the fire. It didn't even have time to set off any sprinkler heads.

I live 15 minutes away from Fairport and the fire department is just almost a mile after the tracks

They've got two stations: one north of the tracks and Erie Canal and one south of them. They are usually quite quick to respond.

I live near BNSF's Columbia Subdivision. What I saw yesterday was a first for me. An all CN power moving empty oil cans east. Three GE 44's, two on point, and a DPU bringing up the rear. I've seen the occasional CSX and NS power, and always with a BNSF in the lead.

0:10 Amtrak 203 leading while SP 1673 rings its bell 0:42 BNSF 25th anniversary unit and two warbonnets in the same lash-up. The other BNSF orange unit is an ex-ATSF unit 1:25 SD75M with a broken horn 1:44 nice catch of those Algoma Central cars. The line is home to Agawa Canyon Tour Train 1:52 red light comes on in the cab and switches off at 2:13 2:55 this fast mixed freight has a caboose on the end 4:20 two locomotives, one of them a warbonnet, pulling the Ferrosafe weedkiller train 5:15 two B4-8Ws in H3. One with a silver underframe, one with a black underframe 5:27 a CN unit trailing on what I think is Q-NYCLAC, which uses NS power over BNSF tracks from New York to Los Angeles 5:50 RTEX SW1500 in dark blue trailing 6:23 giant low-center flatcar 6:50 the start of the house fire. Thankfully no flames were visible from the camera, only clouds of smoke 11:46 NS 8102 is leading Q-LACNYC 12:44 two H1s, warbonnet, and two H3s

I had just watched over the weekend their live feed. They take their train tracks very seriously, lingo or jargon unknown to me. Over the weekend on that camera a band like person or persons were playing music 2300 ish central time night time..walking about the tracks .....I Never knew about Fairport, New York did a quick review. The house fire was interestingly strange with the automobile cars leaving I feel or just to move them out of the way... hope all is well now. Nice shine on the black switcher engine...new one for me the Virginian engine... Is that caboose still a working caboose? Nice finish on it. More switcher trains they are the fun size! Some green one too. Thanks

5:50 RTEX 1480 appears to be ex-SP MP15AC based on number and light/numberboard arrangement. Interesting that BNSF 1841 has some equipment added (PTS gear?) ahead of the cab and painted in BN green to match. 12:23 that unit went by Tower 55 twice and never made the grab bag

It allows you to have a light on to see inside the vehicle without disturbing your nighttime vision that your eyes have adjusted to nor will it bleach out the windows on the inside too where you can’t see out of them @ nighttime like a regular light bulb does.Most semi trucks have them also

@@nolanharder167 Nolan. Even paid Fire Departments respond with multiple apparatus. Pumpers are for pumping and supplying water. Ladder trucks are for roof operations. If you’re lucky you have 3 or 4 guys on each. It takes a lot of work. Try it. I’ve been doing it over 34 years
