Anyone else get the feeling the City Council and Fontana never went through FD training or is it just me?
@richardherndon4513 жыл бұрын
I trust a fire fighter's word about response time over some office jockey civil worker looking to make more money for pushing papers.

Fontana should be fired for his interference on fire scenes
@jsock80913 жыл бұрын
he should be arrested too, thats a felony. and speaking over the radio without proper certifications can be considered a federal offense in some states

Previous video to this was this bloke responding lights and sirens to fires despite having no emergency roll and getting in the way and disrupting radio traffic on scene of a fire lol

I don’t understand the engine is going to stay but they move the people manning it. Sounds to me like it will just sit there.
@smallbrandproductions69063 жыл бұрын
No, they are moving the engine and it’s people to a different firehouse.

A mayor should be a former firefighter. Hire a firefighter to be a mayor. Just my opinion.

Im sorry....it takes 6 people to move someone from the second floor??? You need an Engine for that??? 🤣🤣🤣...no....not at all. EMS needs funding and staff and fire can do their thing
@charlottederichsweiler76803 жыл бұрын
Why dont they do one engine and one medic
@jsock80913 жыл бұрын
one engine, an ambulance, and a medic squad would be perfect

"If your loved one is on the second floor, or third floor, you need an engine company to carry that person out of the home..." No you done, I ran EMS for 6 years, outside of training, I had a 2 man crew and no fire department assistance to general calls and carried people from the 4th floor down. The only times I needed assistance was when the PT was 400+ pounds and it didn't matter what floor they were on. All our crews were 2-3 man operations, so needing an engine company on every first aid call means either A) your EMT's are weak and poorly trained and likely shouldn't be running calls at all, or B) your looking for a reason to demand more funds for the department and union. All of that aside, I do believe an engine should be posted with an ambulance if the response times will increase or the city will be a truck less for fire calls. But I feel the union shouldn't try to strike fear in people by giving false information.

Mike Ayers I think be was referring to their being a fire to need an engine company to carry them down
@rascalpup52376 жыл бұрын
ok, but if there is a fire, they just respond in the fire truck rather than only bring an ambulance lol. Keep in mind this is a union, their job is to protect other jobs. In that way, by keeping a engine company staffed they are saving jobs, but if both parties were smart and willing to talk, they would have chosen to have 1 engine crew and an EMS crew ready to go. IDK, the whole system seems screwed up, either way, most PT's only need a 2 man crew, not an engine company to remove them.

Mike Ayers Jesus.. they are REPLACING the fire truck with medical units not adding them. You can't just take a fire truck, if there isn't a fire truck, you must be an EMT from a private
@rascalpup52376 жыл бұрын
Actually I was Volly, not paid, Volly FD as well. The only times FD was involved in EMS calls, 1)Fire for obvious reasons, 2) auto accident, again Obvious reasons, and 3) for lifting those who were over 400 lbs. Also "All of that aside, I do believe an engine should be posted with an ambulance if the response times will increase or the city will be a truck less for fire calls." I am not for removing the truck at all, but to say an engine crew is NEEDED on EVERY EMS call that comes in is just bullshit, plain and simple, and to tell people their loved ones will die in a fire truck doesn't respond to every first aid call is misleading the public into thinking they need to spend more money on crews, maintenance, and when a real fire comes in, time, as once on scene, you cant just stop PT care to respond to the fire. Again, an exact reason engine crews are not needed on an EMS call.
@paramedic1356 жыл бұрын
Mike Ayers No you don't need an engine on every medical but it's very helpful on the 'real' ones, and the biggest issue in my mind is fire because obviously if you take away an engine you're taking away protection for fires and rescue operations. The city should learn not to step in on FD at all because if we know anything it's that the biggest threat to the civilian populace is the incompetent people they elected to lead them, look up New Haven's EMA director the guy thinks he's a fire chief. Good for you on volly fire/ems, sorry if I insulted you implying you were from a private

If the city administration can not justify having a fully staffed engine at this fire house sorry to tell you firefighting union the public generally don't care what you have to say it's called efficiency something the general public all across America is demanding
@jeffreyhouse81736 жыл бұрын
It's called public safety you f******* dope. Let's just put people's lives at stake
@gregory22444ableify6 жыл бұрын
Jeffrey House the public safety excuse doesn't justify misusing money anymore. What do you do when money is getting tuff? I know I bet you make changes on how you spend money. If local leaders always put public safety 1st on major thought processes nothing would ever get done. Like stated many other times. Most rural fire departments don't even run ems calls. So why should big city engines be running ems calls? The answer is they shouldn't be sending the big engines for every ems run is a huge budget strain on any department
@jeffreyhouse81736 жыл бұрын
How are you miss using money when you buy a fire engine something that protects the citizens. Public safety should come 1st 1st and foremost. You're just a fucken idiot
@gregory22444ableify6 жыл бұрын
Jeffrey House your sounding more and more like a chapter union president. Public safety shouldn't be the only thing used to make decisions. Departments all thru out the US are trying to change and be more cost effective and efficient

Gregory Johnson Yeah at the cost the public safety. Dumb asses like you just don't get it
