Ali really was attracted to House, but the spore made her act like a stalker. Loss of inhibition isn't a real life symptom of coccidioides immitis, but neither are milky tears. The writers took creative liberty to give House an easy way to discover what was really going on. If he truly made it up, why would Ali not have come back a week or so later, still in love with House? She was literally stalking him. Why would telling her she's not really feeling what she's feeling and then prescribing medication make her go away for good? Because the spore was real.

Sorry, "AKTSCHUALLY" mode engaged. Back scabbards were highly impractical in the medieval age and were pretty much never used. Even Hugh Laurie being able to fit his cane into the back of his shirt was probably movie magic. If you read it again, you'll see I wasn't gainsaying you. My issue is with the scriptwriter, really. I've never liked Dr. C U..., anyway (I've only watched six episodes in Season 1), and if they wanted to portray her as overbearing and much too enamored of her own opinions, they succeeded.
