How did you get health insurance in Italy?

You get your official residency then when you qualify elective residence allows you to join with payment of 386euro per year. Italians , including those who get dual citizenship by Italian bloodline proved and officially recognized get free medical as an Italian citizen. Every person is different so research for your situation

But in order to get official residency you need to get private health insurance first? At least for a limited period? I am very confused by this topic. I am not Italian but I am a EU national. Please research subject or consult a professional that helps with your visa. Good luck! Mine was through bloodline and my spouse through me, I didn’t do elective residency route.

Approx. how much a month for a single man to live a quiet life in your part of Italy? Two bedroom rental, eating out once a day. Is it safe and relatively easy for gay people to fit in, possibly meet a partner ?

We could not even begin to approximate this, because there are so many variants. But, we can say it is much more reasonable than ANYWHERE in the USA, for sure. It is very safe here. We are always feeling very comfortable. And, they are perfectly fine with acceptance towards us. As for your last question, as we are not single, we cannot answer this.
