It's kind of amazing how this little sketch hit the nail so squarely on the head. Here it is, over a decade later, and countless shows have copied this exact formula. Asshole protagonist is unnecessarily mean to everyone around him, but it's ok because he's disabled, attractive, has a substance abuse problem, and is somehow inexplicably always right.

Both are good..I love snl dont get me wrong...i just think madtv was more consistent as far as skits being funny..madtv I'd say has a 90% laugh rate,while snl is more like 60% ...meaning I can expect more things to be funny on madtv...but I will agree with u that there are many snl skits that are legendary and classic,and had me rolling on the floor..I'm just stating my own opinion...both are great,but madtv is a tad better...and I love the cast of madtv..all of them..i used to crush on nicole Sullivan hard...i was in love with her as a teen cause I thought she was so damn SEXY...but I digress...

The "callous" thing was great - thats what actually happens in House. Someone says something/ he sees something seemingly innocuous, and then for some reason links it to his patient. In about half the House episodes, if it weren't for these convenient coincidences, he wouldn't have figured it out and the patient would be dead.

Great spoof. It's hard to spoof something which is funny and very clever to begin with (apart from some great drama). The actor who spoofs House nails the looks and schtick - I just would have loved to see it all with faster timing, this is a little like House and everyone on Valium (not Vicadin). The original show is real fast, blink and you miss something... Great stuff anyway. I guess they made Chase on purpose a Brit (in one of the earlier episodes of the original House calls him British).
