You know what I just considered? Their feud is a microcosm of the general animosity amongst the lords. Mainly, it's the idea that they are next-door neighbours who are intermarried throughout history, and yet still justify going to war over and over.

I really love all of your content, Robert. I think you are one of the most thoughtful, grounded and down-to-earth commentators out there. But then, I am simple. Because every time you use the phrase "Cunning Plan," I think back to Blackadder, and it just makes me smile. I checked the ages and it seems like Lyanna might’ve been the the first daughter born after Lyanna Stark’s passing. Jon’s birth (and thus Lyanna Stark’s death) was in 83 and Lyanna Mormont was born 6-7 years after, and her sister closest in age Jorelle’s birthyear isnt specified, set between 75-89. She clearly is old enough to go out to war and ppl usually don’t get pregnant quickly after giving birth and we know for certain Lyanna Mormont is born in the year 90 so I’d guess Jorelle was born slightly before Jon. If so Lyanna Mormont was the first daughter born after Lyanna Stark’s death. Now I imagine Lyanna and Dacey might’ve been friends ;-;

A bit of a gripe here, GRRM sucks at **some science. But he clearly has incredible understanding of so-called earth sciences, like climate and geology. But beyond that, do these folks who think he "sucks at science" realize that he's worked as a sci-fi writer for about half a century? You don't do that without understanding a few things. 1:07:48 perhaps the occasional mention of skinchangers living on isolated islands is intended to prepare us for a reveal of skinchangers on Skaggos from a Davos POV. In addition to Alyssanne's comment, we also hear a strong rumour (but almost definitely untrue) that the lords of the Lonely Light change into the seals that mainly occupy their island.

I don't think that's true. Even tho he's not technically dead, he still deserted which breaks the NW oath. I think Blood Raven was only Lord Commander until they held the choosing to replace him
