It's noticeable that by the end of the episode, the king is losing his natural allies. He's sent his brother away from the Red Keep and King's Landing and his wife is dead along with his make heir. He sent his brother away on the word of his Hand, Ser Otto Hightower. Meanwhile, the maesters in charge of his wife's pregnancy and labour were all trained at the Citadel in Oldtown, the seat of House Hightower. Was their advice to the King during Queen Aemma's labour entirely impartial? Is their allegiance primarily to the king and the Red Keep, or is it divided with liege house on Oldtown. We also see the Hand trying to get his daughter emotionally close to the grieving king. Intrigue on intrigue.

Omg I didn’t even consider the fact that Otto could have lied about Daemon’s speech. And they deliberately didn’t show us that scene. Hmm. But Daemon didn’t deny it… Also, if the queen’s death was masterminded, Otto Hightower is the most evil bastard in Westeros. What a way to go! 😩

@@jenreacts Yes Daemon didn't deny saying it, but he didn't admit to it either. He skilfully evaded giving a direct answer. He may have said it, or more likely someone in his party said it on his behalf and he wanted to save their tongue, or even their head. If the latter is the case then Otto Hightower would have known it but still directed the comment at the king's brother.

@@jenreacts daemon may have said it in an acknowledgement of the heir even if he was for one day just like people acknowledge the queen who never was... The only way we could have been sure if daemon said it negatively or ignorantly was by watching the scene directly which wasn't shown... Soooooo the doubt remains... Due to constant pushing by otto... against daemon
