Fun fact for the Targaryens, their actually supposed to have literally pure white hair and piercing purple eyes, they’d stand out to an extreme anywhere. Also, Dany is 12 in the books, about 15/16 in the show. Oh and also also, there are supplemental videos people have made on KZbin detailing the lore and knowledge not adapted from the books for each season, they can help give a greater understanding of the setting overall.

The opening scene of this series did such a great job of planting the idea that there was more to this world than what the rest of the season would show. Everything else is so grounded in realism that you forgot what is beyond the Wall. But whenever mentions of the days of magic, magical creatures, and White Walkers no longer existing or even being questioned to have existed at all, you always end up being reminded of that opening scene.

I strongly recommend watching this with the subtitles on. And not just because there are scenes where they're not speaking English. It will help with understanding their accents, learning their names, and catching small details of the dialogue that you might miss. I found it super useful to do that when I was watching it for the first time.
