Also, Dany is 12 in the books, about 15/16 in the show. The opening scene of this series did such a great job of planting the idea that there was more to this world than what the rest of the season would show. Everything else is so grounded in realism that you forgot what is beyond the Wall. But whenever mentions of the days of magic, magical creatures, and White Walkers no longer existing or even being questioned to have existed at all, you always end up being reminded of that opening scene.

I strongly recommend watching this with the subtitles on. And not just because there are scenes where they're not speaking English. It will help with understanding their accents, learning their names, and catching small details of the dialogue that you might miss. I found it super useful to do that when I was watching it for the first time.

You gotta remember, this series started in 2011 and was the BIGGEST thing that existed when it was on. Many of the actors, though incredibly talented, had their breakthrough into the great mainstream with this series, or rather, this series made them become recognizable. So them telling you "this person was in Game of Thrones" is kind of expected.
