Mair is correct. All Otto wants is to take the throne. He will do and say anything to keep Daemon and Rhaenyra from from it because he knows he will be kicked out with either of them as King or Queen. So yeah, it was a boon for him to find out the info about Dae and Rhae. He never would have kept that to himself. If it was in his favor he wouldnt have bat an eye keeping it a secret. He doesn't work for the realm only his own bloodline; he's failing in his duties by doing so.

Technically Rhaenyra didn’t lie to Alicent. She found the loophole and exploited it. Alicent was asking her if she had sex with Daemon and she technically didn’t. Alicent didn’t ask if she was still a virgin, she asked if she specifically had sex with Daemon and Rhaenyra didn’t. Alicent just assumed that because she didn’t have sex with Daemon then she was still a virgin. Also, even if Alicent did ask her directly it’s completely understandable that she would have lied to Alicent. At this point Rhaenyra only just made up with Alicent the day before. In her eyes Alicent is still the girl who lied to her for months, snuck around with her dad and then took her mother’s place (even if Rhaenyra realized that Otto coerced her into marrying him then that just proves that Alicent is Otto’s puppet and will do whatever he wants even if it means hurting her only friend). She had zero reason to trust that Alicent wouldn’t have run off to Viserys or Otto and told on her.

Allicent is definitely just a vessel, i.e. a baby-machine with Viserys, their "love making" is probably very different than it was with Aemma. Even though Allicent has a connection with Viserys, it is not rooted in real sexual affection.

I'm not sure if you guys got this or not, but when Rheanyra said "for my hand," she meant her hand in marriage. Not her hand as in 'hand of the Queen'. Also, Rheanyra and Deamon didn't 'go all the way'. In the behind the scenes they say that Damon had 'performance issues' and that's why he didn't go through with it. Which is something they showed before (in the previous ep.) when he was with his girlfriend/prostitute (called the white worm) and she asked him if he wanted her to bring in any younger, golden haired 'maidens'. This is something you should keep in mind, since it will come up one last time. Lastly, I think a lot of ppl would disagree with the person who said they thought Allicent wanted to "date" the King. In saying that, everyone is entitled to their own interpretation and opinion of course.

Showing the difference between Alicent bound to duty and Rhaenyra able to enjoy a little more freedom, especially as the heir, was well done in this episode. I’m still team Daemon! I watched this episode with my mom and it was so awkward lmao. And whoever said Alicent wanted to marry him left out a ton of context which is normal because most people don't like her but she was a 15 year old doing what her dad told her to do. That really was Plan Tea not poison. That scene was basically saying that Viserys doesn't trust fully trust what Rhaenyra told him and is making sure he weds her off to Laenor Velaryon without a bun in the oiven.

The man was rude to the boy because he was from House Bracken and the boy is from House Blackwood. They have a legendary rivalry that's lasted centuries and still continued in Game of Thrones but we never saw anything. It is talked about in the books though. The Red Keep is filled with secret passageways that were built by King Maegor the Cruel. He killed the builders after they built them to keep them a secret. Only some know about some and less know all of them.

I think we women tend to absorb more romance (movies, books, etc) so we're more familiar with romantic undertones and can spot them immediately. Daemon took Rhaenyra to the pleasure house (and removed her hat) so that people would see them together and her reputation would be ruined. He was trying to force a marriage between them by taking her virginity but couldn't go through with it in the end.

Good for Rhaenyra for living her life as she wants but she’s creating a storm in her path. Viserys broke law naming her heir & instead of her living up to it she’s out having premarital sex & acting a fool in whore houses. It’s just more ammo for ppl to rise up against her and want Aegon, Viserys’s first born son as heir. Also she lied to Alicent & swore on her dead mother. Her and Alicent both have lost their mothers so I’m sure it’s something they connected on, and for Rhaenyra to lie like that it’s a huge betrayal. Alicent defended her blindly because she was her best friend only to be a fool. And then she got rid of her father for speaking the truth.

Viserys didn’t break the law, he broke precedent which is very different. Any king before him could have named their daughter as heir they all just chose not to. If they wanted to name their youngest child heir and skip over 5 kids then they could have. People just didn’t like that he chose a girl, he was well within his rights to do so. And Rhaenyra didn’t lie to Alicent. Alicent asked if she had sex with Daemon. She didn’t. Alicent just assumed that because Rhaenyra didn’t sleep with Daemon that it meant she was still a virgin. She didn’t ask the right question (“did you sleep with anyone?” Or “are you still a maiden?”) so Rhaenyra did not give her the whole truth. That’s not lying

Otto told the king because if Rhenerya had sex before marriage she would be considered "soiled" for any official marriage & therefore Otto's daughter's sons would be the obvious heirs! That's how it works! You cannot judge their morals by today's standards. A queen - or any wife - was supposed to give the king - or any husband - an heir or noble daughters to wed to other noble houses to create THEIR heirs. If the woman had more than one sexual partner - not a virgin - there would be no guarantee that the children belonged to that king/man. So a woman who was "tarnished" or "sullied" could no longer be considered for marriage & were often sent off to convents or became prostitutes. Virginity of the woman used to be so very important - and in some cultures it still is - that there was a committee that would watch a king & queen have first sex on their wedding night to verify the woman bled when hubby broke her hymen during intercourse! One reason women used to ride horses with a side saddle was fear of breaking her hymen if she rode a galloping horse in straddle position! It was THAT important! Woe to the young girl who fell wrong or broke her hymen in an innocent way. Some women even snuck small amounts of blood into the wedding bed with them to ensure there would be blood on the sheets for the witnesses to see! I'm so glad I wasn't born back then! 😅

I'm already used to it because I read George Martin's books and the stories he tells about the Targaryen family all contain incest.
