It’s actually Targaryen blood from generations back on Corlys’ side. Targs used to occasionally marry with the Velaryons. He gets his dragon blood from him…. I think Seasmoke also senses something familiar though. He is Laynor’s half brother, and I believe he chooses him because he feels comfortable with him. He just feels right

Nobody picks their dreams. Daemon is being forced to face every one of his demons: jealousy of his wife, mommy abandonment, second son syndrome, etc. Maybe fatherhood before it’s all said and done? Daemon was never going to self-explore consciously, so it had to be imposed upon him. We start to see his realization, the start of him transforming into a better self that can actually HELP his wife instead of sabotage her. A new Daemon. It took until this episode to see just how essential this process was. And yes, we need to thank Alys for this.
