those were not the wild dragons there is still three of those who have never been bonded or ridden. The dragon's that gained riders in this episode are a lot more accepting of people than the wild ones since Vermithor and Silverwing originally hatched with and grew up with their former riders the old king Jehearys and his sister-wife the good queen Alysanne(Viseris and Deamon's grandparents) two or three rulers ago. Vermithor might have seemed wild but that's because he's also known as the Bronze Fury and that he has quite the temper/ anger issues, Silverwing on the other hand is a she-dragon and is known to have been the most docile and friendly of the targaryan dragons. At the end of season one we actually got to see Vermithor already, he was the dragon we saw deamon singing to in the caves to help calm him down/ reaclimate him with people since it's been around 30 years or so since Jahearys and Alysanne died and their dragons have basically been left alone most of that time since like their old riders they were also a known mating pair and several of the dragons we see are actually their childern. house targ. at this point has three breeding female dragons Silverwing and Syrax currently at the dragon mount on dragonstone, and the other is Dreamfire(helena's bonded dragon) who resides in the dragon pit. i think you've been told this before but you keep refering to Vhagar as a he when it's actually a she-dragon and an old granny one at that, just thought i would let you know because a big part of the dragons is their characterization and intelligence.

I loved this episode. Bummer that there are only 8 episodes but the tea on that is that there were scripts written for 10. The actors strike didn't effect shooting but the writers strike meant that the scripts were locked.... And then the studio cut two episodes. In the book Rhaenyra isn't credited (or blamed depending on how you look at it) for the red sowing. I like that the show is giving her more agency in her decisions. I'm pretty sure it was Jace that orchestrated it all in the book so it is a little odd to see how they've altered his character. Whatever they end up doing I'm enjoying the adaptation overall. Glad you are too!

Sorry for the novel but the guy's name is High the Hammer. A lot of people read his shout at Vermithor as an act of bravery but I actually saw it as an act of submission. He was devastated that he couldn't save the life of his daughter so he saw that moment that he could save a girl and also maybe end his own suffering. He was ok to die or claim the dragon but I think he thought for sure he would die.
