My favorite dragon so far is Caraxes. I fell in love with Caraxes in episode 2 when they featured him roaring in distinct high pitch and making weird noises that are very distinct. We did not see any personality with Daenerys' 3 dragons. The attention to detail this time around deserves praise and applause.

I heard a small theory that The Cannibal was meant to be Maegor the Cruel's dragon, but he rejected the hatchling and left it to run wild.

That would contradict the smallfolk of Dragonstone claims. They claimed that Cannibal was present on the Dragonstone before Targaryens even stepped on this land. That would mean that he was born before 114 BC, the time Aenar moved his household from Valyria do Dragonstone. But this claim is weird and seems unreal, since Targaryens were actually the ones who brought dragons to Westeros. Before them, there were none. Aenar moved 5 dragons to be exact, one of them being Balerion, the other 4 died with unspecified cause, but laid several eggs which hatched into Meraxes and Vhagar. When Balerion died at 94 AC because of old age, he was atleast 208 years old. But presumably even more, since I don't believe he hatched the very year Aenar moved him to Dragonstone. I believe he was atleast 10-20 years old by that time. That would make him around 220 years old. But... Balerion fighted in countless battles, was injured several times and the most important fact: HE LIVED HIS WHOLE LIVE IN CAPTIVITY. Why is this important? Even if we look on real animal's living in this world and time, those who live in captivity often die earlier than those who live freely, even tho they are exactly the same species. So if Cannibal was present before Targaryens, that would make him older or about the same age as Balerion. Since Cannibal survived the Dance and last known sightning of him was at 132 AC, that would make him ATLEAST 246 years by that time. Probably 20-30 years older than Balerion was. And since their lifespan is so big, I genuienely believe he could have lived this long as a free dragon. But it contradicts the claim that Targaryens are the one who brought Dragon's to Westeros. But it would make sense that Cannibal hates Targaryen dragons if the smallfolk claims were true, because that would make him completely different lineage, which only Balerion could be considered of his kin.

Also... It was actually Rhaena Targaryen (daughter of Aenys I Targaryen) who started the tradition of giving a dragon egg into the Targaryen child cradle. She started doing this in 34 AC with her little brother, Jaehaerys I. And continued with hers and Jaehaeryses younger sister, Alysanne. So Maegor I was born when this wasn't a tradition at all.

The sore spot for the Greens is that none of the green heirs hatched a dragon egg. They might have claimed a dragon, which a dragon seed might do, by taming, as Nettles did, but none actually hatched in the craddle.

I'm most excited for Vhagar, the oldest (and largest) dragon in Westeros at the time of the Dance of Dragons. While a flashback of Balerion would be neat, I feel that his screen time would be limited and if its with a Viserys flashback, he won't be doing much. Vhagar on the other hand is quite active during the Dance.

King Viceryon is by far my favorite Targaryen of all time, he's too smart for his own good & way to good for his FAMILY! There's a picture in between Sunfyre and Meleys in the video "House of the Dragon: SIZE COMPARISON" that I really like. 20:17: If Tessarion doesn't show up I'm gonna be pissed though. I think that one looks quite good as well in the same video (the picture). But more importantly, he's involved in battles that I would like to see (and am hoping they won't skip like they did all the Lannister vs Stark battles in GoT, by only talking about it or knocking out Tyrion). Including a major dragon vs dragon battle that is important for the storyline (in the lore). I doubt they're going to skip that one though. I'd prefer it if they showed Cannibal as well, cause we already got deprived of Balerion. They just need to show more than 17. The dragon pit event doesn't make much sense (or doesn't have the same impact) without Tyraxes, Shrykos and Morghul along there with Dreamfyre anyway. So they'll need to show them eventually anyway. And I definitely don't want to miss out on Silverwing cause otherwise sending only 1 Dragon Seed to Tumbleton to face Tessarion when you've got such a numerical advantage in dragons makes no sense either. It would break the tactical consistency in the storyline (which does make sense when they send 2). There's also a beautiful emotional storyline between Silverwing and Vermithor, that I hope they will build up throughout the show (during the sowing for example). I guess they could do without Morning, but I recon the CGI for that one is cheap anyway, so why would they. I also like the story of Stormcloud and what he does for his rider. I would prefer some scenes building up to that moment in the show over endless scenes about the various romantic subplots, especially involving Daemon and the rider for Sheepstealer, which I just know they're going to spend way too much screentime on because it's cheap and appeals to their main target audience. Perhaps even causing them to skip some battles or build-up to these battles which would be much more interesting to me. Such as the battles in the Reach before Tessarion gets involved (or even after). Or the battle of the burning mill in the Riverlands where a dragon is not directly involved in the battle. They might use that as an excuse to skip it.

What was the dragon that Daemon sang to in the underground of Dragonstone towards the end of season 1? I always thought it was Vermithor.

I believe the show runners confirmed it was Vermithor and that Daemon was singing to it to sort of prepare it for a new rider/make sure he stays friendlyish to humans

I believe this to be a very real possibility. Though we are told that Balerion was the largest dragon of his age. So it is unclear for sure.
