The Targaryans were way worse actually. Danearys shares 100% of blood with Aegon the conqueror. They did a reaaaaaly good job at keeping the blood pure. It pretty much confirms that the Targaryans are magic, because if a normal human family had this level of incest, the bloodline wouldn't even make it to Viserys, and somehow Danearys is born to centuries of 100% incest with 0 new blood introduced, and somehow has zero deformities (besides going crazy). With a normal human, that is biologically impossible. And all that is without considering that we don't even know how far back the incest goes. It could be all the way from Valyria, and that's straight up crazy to think about. Their blood must be godly considering they went up until Aerys II before they started going crazy.

This is great, but there are two minor mistakes that I noticed: -Lyanna doesn't just disappear. She died (later revealed to be from giving birth to Jon) and was buried in the Crypts under Winterfell, which is actually a pretty big deal because Robert is introduced visiting her grave and she's literally the only Stark who wasn't Lord of Winterfell to get a statue down there, because Ned loved her that much. -Robert *does* have a tiny amount of Targaryen blood from the founder of his house being Aegon I's bastard brother, but he also has a much stronger link through his grandmother. Robert's father Steffon's mother was Princess Rhaelle, daughter of Aegon V Targaryen.

One, Laena died while still pregnant, we don't know if the baby was alive or dead but she wasn't going to die like her cousin Aemma did and so chose to go like a true dragonrider. She stated earlier in that same episode it was how she wanted to go. Two, it wasn't both her daughters that wanted Vhagar, Baela already had bonded with Moondancer who came from the egg placed in her crib at birth some years ago. Rhaena's egg hadn't yet hatched and so she was planning to claim Vhagar.

There's also hints that the Blackfyres didn't go extinct and that the POV character in the books (that did not appear in the show) Aegon (who is claimed to be the son of Rhaegar and his wife Elia Martell) is actually a Blackfyre descendant (possibly by his mother and Illyrio Mopatis), some theorize that Varys may also be a Blackfyre.

this video seems to focus on the show version of events (although including history that isn't exactly explained in full in the show from the books). I vote you add Daenys, the dreamer to the chart. She is the confirmed daughter of Aenar, the exile and sister-wife to Gaemon, the glorious, (but might not have the same mums as it is hinted Aenar had multiple wives). Plus, Jaehaera died mysteriously after the war (might have been thrown of a balcony, might have killed herself) when she was between 9-13 (can't remember), so didn't mother any children. Daeron, Baelor and sisters (3 all kind of important and worth listing on tree with their offspring) are the children of Daenaera (I think) Velaryon, cousin to Baela and Rhaena, who are the ones who introduce her to their little brother/King (Aegon III, Dragonsbane). Then I think you should add Daeron II's sister, Daenaerys and her marriage to Myriah martell's brother. The double marriage is how Dorne joins the seven Kingdoms (& could be one of the causes of the OG Blackfyre rebellion). And I want to see the Great Bastards of Aegon the unworthy, not just the Blackfyres. One of Daemon I Blackfyre's daughters married Bittersteel (children unknown), plus Sheira Seastar & Bloodraven are all v important to era. Then you skip a whole bunch of people. The lore is so vast, if you're going to do a tree, you've got to do it justice.

Other changes that should be added are the following: 1. Aegon, Visenya and Rhaenys were the children of Valaena Velaryon 2. Aenys was married to Alyssa Velaryon thus she was the mother of Jaehaerys and Alysanne. Alyssa remarried to Rogar Baratheon and they had 2 children - Jocelyn and Boremund Baratheon. Jocelyn married Prince Aemon and thus the mother of Princess Rhaenys the Queen who never was. 3. Aegon III indeed married Jaehaera but she died young and without issue and thus he later married Daenaera Velaryon who waa the mother of Daeron, Baelor, Daena, etc.

It would be cool to see a book version of this tree and also to see one with all the important families in westeros and essos. It will be infinitely more complex but so so cool! Also, if you include some book happenings, i think more people would see past the superficial portrayal of what happens in the show (I say this in a totally neutral way!) And would totally get hooked on all the theories. Some theories are backed by so much book evidence, that it's sad nobody knows it when just watching the show. I don't consider anything from the GOT show as cannon. Technically the first 4 season were based cannon material (which is why they are fantastic seasons of television) but even their changes are often weird. And of course, everyone knows how bad season 8 was, but season 5-7 weren't great either. The plot holes were consistently ginormous
@szbszig7 ай бұрын
Seasons 1 to 4 are OK with minor changes to the books; seasons 5 to 7 are bad with major changes and completely made up plotlines; and we should never ever mention that disgraceful mess that is called season 8. That is how the original show can be summed up.

Just to point out that the Targaryans also married a cousin Velaryon when they did not have a sister available. Aenys Tarygary married a Velaryon and also the father of Aegon the Conqueror. So it is pretty much Cousin-Sister-Cousin-Sister and so goes on until Viserys II (who probably married a distant relative because she was also Valyria descendent). I believe they only married a not relative 3 times in history.

15:08 One mistake here: in the show they skipped the generation of Jaehaerys II, so Aerys II is the son of Aegon V, instead of the grandson. Also, from what I know, it's never made clear precisely who's siblings Rhaelle ends up being, more likely Aegon V's.

It's also hinted at a lot in both books and show that Jon is the child of Rhaegar and Lyanna. Additionally, Jon is no longer bound by his night's watch vows and may well father children north of the wall, who will be legitimate if he has said marriage vows in front of a weirwood tree to their mother.

That's not true though, in Daenerys direct lines some Targaryen males marry non-Targaryen women or half Targaryen women. Viserys I 's wife Aemma is half Arryn and Daeron II marries a Martell. Maekar I (Master Aemon's dad) marries a Dayne. Aegon V (Daenerys great grandpa) marries a Blackwood. Not sure why the video leaves out most of the non-Targ women. So there is some new blood in the older generations but yeah both her grandparents and parents were brothers and sisters, which in the real world would not have worked out at all 😂
