To be honest I would recommend NOT reading Fire and Blood (the book HotD is based on) since Fire and Blood is an in-universe history book, and the events are summarized from different contradictory accounts. Rather than a normal narrative with scenes and dialogue, etc. So even though Fire and Blood is great, I think it would be more emotionally impactful to experience the events for the first time in the TV show as part of an actual narrative. I 200% recommend reading A Song of Ice and Fire though, since the books are masterpieces even unfinished, and very different from GoT (particularly books 4 and 5 vs seasons 5 and 6).

I think the reason why this is coming out so soon is because a lot of the strikes stuff going on in Hollywood did not affect many of the cast and crew on this show due to many of them being in a different union so the show kept filming over that period

The ASOIAF main series books are so good! I highly recommend them. Fire and Blood, the book House of the Dragon is based on would best be avoided until the series is over if you don’t want to be spoiled. Plus Fire and Blood is written like a history book instead of a novel. I enjoyed it. But it is not everybody’s cup of tea. ASOIAF is a much easier read.

@@me-fm8nl It definitely isn’t like reading one of the novels from the main series. I enjoyed it because I like learning more about the Targaryen dynasty and the wider world of Westeros and Essos. It does accomplish one of the goals that Martin was working toward, by demonstrating the unreliable nature of history, which is so heavily influenced by the opinions of the sources. I am really looking forward to the next ASOIAF television series because it is based on Martin’s short stories commonly referred to as Dunk and Egg stories. Those short stories are charming. And I think that audiences are going to love them. It is exciting that this new series will begin shooting in the near future.

The ASOIAF books are absolute bangers. Too bad GRRM hasn’t finished them yet. But the ones that are out are amazing. ASOS, the third book in the series, is the best fantasy book ever written in my opinion.

Aegon grew up and became a spoiled, drunkard, rapist, angry, and very evil king and she was very proud. but, at that time. There is a green team that says that Viserys always defends Rhaenyra. Then, what about Alicent who always covers up Aegon's mistakes??! Kkkkk

Alicent is a hypocritical character. She aligned herself with Larys Strong. She acts like she's good, but actually looks bad. She didn't ask larys to commit the crime, but she also let it all happen. without any sympathy for Rhaenyra's children. She exchanged information and sexual services and made an uncomfortable face but she did it anyway. act like a victim. 🦶🏼🤡

Rt comes with to much baggage as an heir while Aegon faults are not publicly known and lets be honest Aegon will be doing what he and Rhaenyra was doing for the last 6 years lets Otto, Alicent, and the rest of the council do the work lol I would still choose Aegon because he can be manipulated by his competent counselors. Rhaenryra had the chance to build alliances but instead had to rely on her father to protect her from all the mistakes SHE made. I choose the side that will not destabilize the realm and that will respect the traditions and culture of westeros.....granted my choice would be Rhaenys over the horrible two choices of Aegon and Rhaenyra.

Chill out bro dance of dragons is actually start's from last episode of season 1 & important dragon riders character development from both sides isn't even started yet except rhenrya and daemon. Therefore it seems pro black who just watch tv show and haven't read the book. As the show continues and we see bad and good sides of all characters the show will become less biased and more intresting. I don't think it will remain pro black till the end.

The realm was at peace because otto and Alicent were ruling it. There’s nothing wrong with a ruling female queen, but in a heavily patriarchal society like Westeros, where the first son inherits, the targaryen dynasty itself was too new for that type of change yet, especially with said woman having 3 bastards in the line of succession

Bastards didn't matter... By law if the king and their father accept them as their son/grandson they are not bastards. There are many more situations like this in the books.
