Welcome to the Heavy Spoilers show, I'm your host Paul and this video we're breaking down House Of The Dragon.

Season 2 episode 7 is now out and the penultimate entry sets up a lot for the finale. Throughout this video we're gonna be breaking down the episodes and talking about everything you need to know. Theres also lots of things we know from the book as we watch the sewing of the seeds all playing out.
Now I know some of you guys are getting sick of the book passages so I'm gonna try and keep em to a minimum. If it's something we've read before on a couple videos ill paraphrase it but if I feel it adds more context then I'll drop it in. I don't want it to be House Of The Dragging....like it drags. Shutup mate.

Ok so the episode primarily centres around the dragon seeds with it leading to a massive scene towards the end. Its absolutely horrifying and way more messed up than how it was in the book.

I might be wrong, but i think they filmed this at llyn Cwm dulyn, north Wales. I know a lot of season 2 was filmed in north Wales, and the scenes with Alicent are definitely in snowdonia. If so, it has even more ties to the arthurian legend as Llyn Cwm Dulyn was the lake that was believed to be the Lake were Arthur was given Excalibur. So much so that King Edward I (Longshanks) celebrated his 40th birthday.

Y'know, it's completely on brand for Silverwing to be like "Honey, are you lost? Do you need a lift out?" Honestly surprised Drunkle Ulf wasn't offered milk & cookies to comfort him too, lol. We've been calling Vhagar nana, think that might have been a misnomer assigned to the wrong dragon. Also Hugh is Serras son! Glad they tied it back into the known Targ lineage. ETA Hugh didn't just claim Vermithor by being bold & brave, _he did something selfless_ . He distracted Vermithor and allowed the woman who was hiding with him to escape. Methinks Vermithor likes people of character.

The show made it feel like Daemons decision to execute his former confidant was a definitive moment, like he sealed his fate. Never read the books, but the musical tones over that scene and the way they kept the camera on him for a while after he swung his sword made it feel important.

Im so fucking proud of the show writers man. I was 100 percent certain s1 they wouldnt include the side characters like the hull bros and ulf and hugh. Was really worries theyd be cut out or merged with another main character. Truly awesome how faithful they are being to the books, although they do their own thing here and there its mostly accurate which is so rare from shows adapting books, everyone just thinks they know best so i really appreciate them for this!

Yeah I'm honestly pissed, it is is beyond dragging at this point. HBO has completely destroyed the character of Daemon this season, he's such a jerk now, he's been stuck in a haunted house for 90% of the season and does the same dumb shit every episode, , he seems less intelligent, etc. It's almost like they wanted to ruin him on purpose, such a waste.

My favorite part of this episode though was seeing Aemond scared. Brother skedaddled outta there REAL QUICK when he seen Vermithor, Silverwing AND Syrax 😂 Vermithor alone might have a decent chance at killing Vhagar. Vhagar would probably win still, but Vermithor is about 80% of Vhagars size and almost as mean as her. *ESPECIALLY* if Silverwing is there? Vermithor and Silverwing against Vhagar? Sheeesh, Vhagar would be roasted lizard. Silverwing isn't letting any dragon kill her man if she cant help it lol. Also loved how Syrax roared at Vhagar first, as if Syrax is the reason Vhagar is running 😂 I get it, they were just defending their turf and warning both dragon and rider, but it just looked funny. The youngest, most inexperienced of the bunch, being the first to roar lmao.

I theorize it's not Valyrian blood, but rather kinship. Laenor could claim Seasmoke through his kinship with Rhaenys. And Adam could claim seasmoke due to his kinship with Laenor, while not being directly related to a Targaryen. That's why the Velaryons weren't dragon riders, they never had a dragon lineage in Valyria. Only because of Corlys marrying Rhaenys could a Velaryon offspring claim a Targaryen Dragon. It would also add to why incest was common in Valyria. The families didn't want the possibility of others being able to claim a dragon belonging to their family (Like Aemond did with Vhagar), and to keep the bond strong with their dragons through the generations. What's the Valyrian dragon secret? Maybe they just stole some eggs, hatched them, so the dragon could immediately bond with them, and they kept doing that. Or learned to earn the trust of a specific dragon. Like Nettles did with a wild one. This also would explain why others couldn't just clam a wild dragon, there's no relationship between a wild dragon and a Targaryen.
