Once christmas is over, I will order this book. Because of the overview, this helped calmed my fomo for the Mark Brooks cover. I actually like both covers, but if the Mark Brooks is all gone, the regular cover is wonderful to look at and acquire. Thanks for the vid.

I’ve always enjoyed your videos but I have taken your photography for granted. Outstanding overview, the one the new relaunch and the this book deserve. Can't wait to get my copy in my hands. I got so excited for Hickman's take on mutants it actually pushed me to go get the singles, which I've never done before. Can't wait to see the gauge on the quality of Dawn of X a few months from now to see if it stays strong

X-Force is the sole dawn of x book I follow religiously , I feel it’s the one title that has the strongest ties to HOX/POX , loved getting this collection myself, hopefully they take their time developing these books instead of launching so much content at once

Totally agree! Benjamin Percy is doing an amazing job with X-Force and can’t wait for Wolverine. The only book I’m not a fan of in the Dawn of X lineup would be Fallen Angels....

@darkness101011 X-Force, New Mutants and X-Men are the books I love the most. X-Men is the most important of all the titles but X-Force, Marauders and Excalibur are also important. Wolverine deals with what wolverines is facing in this new X-era. X-Factor and Hellions looks promising too. You can read Cable if you like the character

Weekly books have been more Marvel for a good while now (it fluctuates year to year) but I covered Vision on this channel earlier this year... 2020 will have focus on Marvel, Image, Dark Horse and other publishers!

Thank you for your reviews and analysis. I just got this ordered and i have a question. I see alot of TP's to get published of Dawn of X. And since i collect only HC, do you think we will have one or two deluxe HC editions in the near future that will collect all of them? Oh, almost forgot. Is the X-Men X of Swords HC a must buy for the story?

Thanks!!! I think we will see oversized hardcovers for some but not all the Dawn of X titles once 12 issues hits the shelves. My bet will be X-Men, New Mutants, X-Force and Marauders. Rest will probably just get the TPB treatment. X of Swords should get an oversized hardcover if it's a hit.

The Brooks artwork wraps around the fold of the dust jacket! This way Moira, Charles and Magneto would be perfectly centered on the front cover 😊

For not even double the price, you can have Absolute Swamp Thing volume 1, with beautiful design, including a cover that feels like it came right out of the swamp, and beautiful re-coloring of one of the greatest stories in comics. This looks like a great hardcover, but it doesn't even have sewn binding. Hard to call it Collected Edition of the Year.

This is purely my opinion and I understand others won’t feel the same. I totally agree the run and recoloring is amazing for Absolute Swamp Thing but my binding is falling apart and had warped covers (many others had this experience too). More importantly I’m giving this collected edition of the year because of the story and art alone not for the build of the book... this got me excited for the franchise alone and makes me want to read the entire x-men back catalogue in addition to what’s coming next. Alan Moore’s swamp thing doesn’t give off that same level of enthusiasm to keep reading more Swamp Thing or JLD outside his run.

I was lucky to pick up the last two at a local comic book store in NYC. Marvel releases packs of 5 to stores for upcoming events then eventually sell out. Best bet would be ebay but also check out local/online comic book stores who might still have stock.

The Deluxe Edition UPDATE: My LCS got in used copies of all twelve floppies(vf-nm) at the very last minute, picked them all up for a combined 30 bucks. Issue 1 to house of X was a variant though

Okay... is it ACTUALLY pronounced as Powers of Ten? Every video I've seen pronounces them House of X, and Powers of Ten. Why is it not Powers of X? The asymmetry in pronunciation seems at odds with the symmetry of the titles. Why is it this way!?

Indeed it is... the Powers of Ten issues covers the past, present and future... year 1, 10, 100, 1000 (i.e dates increase by a power of ten). Thanks for raising this question as I should have pointed it out in the video.

HoX/PoX is not a New52 of the XMen. The continuity wasnt ignoted or rebooted its all still there.

I see it as the entire MCU (focusing now purely on the X-Men characters) was restarted through Moira.. This gave Hickman the choice what to include and what not to include for the current timeline . Similar to the New 52... Writers cherry picked what events to include from the previous timeline and tweak it to their liking.
