WORST. BATMAN. WRITER. EVER. Don't waste your hard-earned money on Tom King's garbage.

When Young boy Jason Todd was stealing tires from the Batmobile and was caught by Batman and was dropped of at a reform school which turns out to be training people to become criminals after Batman rescued Jason and because of his skills he trained him to become the new Robin when Jason finds out about his long-lost mother shelia Haywood he reunites with her until Joker came along blackmails Sheila into luring Robin inside a warehouse where hen beats Robin up with a crowbar and double crosses her by tying her up to a pole and leaves them both locked in the warehouse with a time bomb. By the time Batman got there the bomb exploded and killed Jason and his mom. Batman was heartbroken and blames himself for not saving him. Years later superboy prime began punching holes in the time stream it creates a ripple causing the reality warp effects to bring Jason back to life he broke out of his coffin and dug out of his grave. He was badly damaged and suffers from a bad case of amnesia found by Talia and was taken to Ra’s al Ghul who pushes Jason into the Lazarus pit healing his mind body and health but also darkens his soul personality and heart. Returning to Gotham Jason finds out that Batman didn’t killed joker to avenge his death and decides to get revenge on joker and Batman dons a red helmet and a blade using his killer’s former identity Jason resurfaces the new killer vigilante red hood.

Thank you for your explanation in this video. I was having trouble deciding what to purchase on google books. The entire 2012 set was available for a cheap discount and I was going to choose it over the 9 volume 25th Anniversary set, as unfortunately, only the 2nd and 3rd volumes of that set were discounted. But now understanding the errors in the 2012 set thanks to you, I decided to purchase the prelude for full price, as well as the following 2 volumes. I also purchased Batman Venom as you recommended. It was discounted as well.

This seems like something I would love to pick up, but calling Zattana a "c list" character is just bogus, lol. Zattana is definitely "A list" material especially since she trained with Bruce Wayne under her father. And is considered a huge threat if turned evil.

These are so hard to find in Canada now. I hate reading omnibuses but it’s actually cheaper to buy that instead.

Wtf? This huge omni still doesn’t cover ALL the tie ins?? It’s the second largest omnibus for a major event. You’d think they’d have everything in here or a volume 2

I realized I basically own an absolute version (in spanish) after watching this video, hardcover as well, and I think I'm happy with it. I wish DC did a reprint of the absolute edition and maybe passed it off as Deluxe or such, the Omni is very nice but that matte black cover is so uncool.

Your breakdown at 2:47 is amazing. I was tying to figure out of the new "Blood and Guts" deluxe edition was contained in this absolute. But all I could find was that it contained issues 0-12. I didn't know if they were the same 0-12 or a different set. So confusing. This cleared things right up. Outstanding prestation here!

Unfortunately volumes 3,4&5 are very hard to find nowadays 😭 i want to collect all the deluxes and i prefer it to having an omnibus.

Can we get part 2?

FYI the first omnibus also included summaries of Resurrection of R’as Ghul and Final Crisis the Resurrection one has new artwork by Chris Burnham (Batman Inc.) but the Final Crisis just recycles artwork from the original event

I loved loved loved Red Hood & The Outlaws New 52 series 😁👍❤️❤️❤️!!! It is so underrated and dives into an array of subjects/topics that are focused on more mature audiences. At first glance, the illustrations were very reminiscent of the Batwoman New 52 run, what with the fracture paneling and nice use of negative space 😄👌. I really appreciate the character growth that occurs with each progressing volume. The outlaws begin as more complex gray vigilantes/mercenaries and slowly progress to anti-heroes. I was so grateful to finally have a tangible understanding of Starfire & Arsenal's background-origin stories as I was unfamiliar with these characters. And Jason Todd really had some pivotal character moments in this series, particularly in volumes 3, 4, & 5. It took me a while to track down all of the individual trade paperbacks but I am so glad that I did 😁👍!! This series is everything anyone would want from a series about a rag-tag bunch of anti-hero underdogs who become friends through unlikely circumstances 😄❤️. My only grip was the slight miscommunication that happened in Vol 4 between Roy & Kori, Jason's sorta unresolved/resolved All-Caste battle in Vol 5, and how poor Roy's relationship with Oliver was in Vol 7. Given how well Bruce & Jason seemed to have patched up some of their problems in Vol 3...I was kinda hoping Roy & Oliver would have a similar moment. All in all, I loved 😁👍❤️!!!

First off, just want to say I love your videos. They are wondefully produced, very informative and well organized. I first came across your channel when wondering if I should purchase the Final Crisis omnibus, and it convinced me to do so, which is a book I ended up loving. As for Tom King's work, first thing I read from him was his Batman run, and immediatly became one of my favorite Batman runs of all time. Since then, read a bunch of other King books, and they were all phenomenal. Complelty agree on your take regarding his work, both within and outside Batman titles.

I love thisDell Otto cover and Batman. I have the signed CGC and art print. I just need a 1/4 or 1/3 statue of it. Also, imagine Superman and Wonder-woman walking along each side of him.
