Wilson is my favorite character on the show. He cares about house and walks with him. He doesnt give up on house and shows a shred of humanity. I think a lot of other people would of walked away from house but wilson the loyal friend is there. He even cares to the point of calling house out on his shananigans. When you do that you risk losing a friend for the sake of trying to help somebody improve.

Wilson tells House's mother that she knows him better than he does, but when House approaches the coffin to "say goodbye", Wilson realizes that this is not the sort of thing House would do and goes to confront him, while his mother believed House's crocodile tears and believed that Wilson was just comforting her son. Okay, gotta be honest, this is one of the few moments where House is *not* being an ass. They had no right to force him up on that podium to "honor" a man who abused him. What did they expect? They had no right to expect him to be there, and no right to expect him to make up a bunch of nice sounding b.s. about a man who he didn't feel deserved it.

Yeah a lot of people and much of media considers relations to be an immutable connection when those you want in your life should be chosen. Relation does not dictate affection and in this case there wasn’t even a relation.
@deterlanglytone
@deterlanglytone 6 ай бұрын
Now, it's important to note, this is a old comment and you're right about no one having the right to force him like this, but House had never opened up to anyone about the abuse outside of woman who'd been raped in season2 I believe? Yes, he does try here. But it's very half-hearted and Wilson doesn't believe it here, because House is trying to get out of this. And they were motivated because they didn't want HOuse to regret not while he had the chance. But Wilson and Cuddy are as bad to House, at least before he drives a car into her living room, as he is to them. But actually, House doesn't gaslight them multiple times. He lies to them, sure but those two have actually denied his observations of reality and told him he was wrong. Then tried to like give diagnose his emotions that could've given him those 'delusions' or 'this will teach him a lesson;' I love the show. But good god, Wilson is constantly presented for having a high horse that he lost a long time before the final season. Honestly, I don't think much of House's mother either. The fact that she puts her feelings over his is a clear sign that she knew the abuse was happening and understood it was wrong, she just didn't care.

Forgiving is not about giving something good to them. It's about giving something good to you. Which is releasing yourself of hatred and that is a feat to accomplish. All you you are talking about how House paused because he realised that he's similar to his father. I don't think it's right. I think he didn't want to fail his mother. House doesn't punish failure other than his own. House doesn't treat those under him worse just because they are under him. You can see that those people were not only his work colleague's but also his friends - from House's own funereal. True, House has many qualities that sound the same as he described his father but on closer inspection, they are not so similar at all. Though, from the other side, we don't really know how House's father was like when he was alive.

Actually we do, there was an episode where they interacted. He was a terrible father.
@ass2278

@@chanaberlove8720 House seemed more proper when his dad was there. Sure, he still slipped up when he talks in true House fashion, but it looked as if he was somewhat holding his tongue. Then when his father went off for a bit in the scene, he seemed to relax a bit when he started talking to his mom. Now that is how you know that his dad was terrible. I've never seen House struggle to keep his composure around anyone but his dad, not even the coppers or the jury during that one court episode.

The last section of the scene, while the whole thing is incredibly done, really shows Robert Sean Leanord’s knack of theatrical acting. The way he carried himself as he circled House was almost similar to a Shakespearean confrontation. Little acting bits like that are really interesting, seeing how naturally a theatrical instinct can come to someone with experience acting in theater or classical plays.
