Gorgeous Large Condo With Colorful Accents

When two Toronto empty-nesters merged two condos floorplans, they asked designer Emily Griffin to help pull things together. Blush sofas and a deep teal fireplace establish a youthful palette and keep the living room punchy. The adjacent kitchen marries modern flat front cabinetry with Old World oversized porcelain tiles. Fun feathered wallpaper pops in the laundry room while global accents add richness to the spare bedroom.

@@marquamfurniture “Modern” is often defined as a departure from the Victorian aesthetic. It began in Germany at the turn of the century with the Bauhaus movement. Mid-Century, Dadaism, and abstract are all included under the umbrella of “Modernism.” It’s probably not productive to argue semantics with a stranger in the internet, but here we are, lol… I stand by my statement, I do not typically enjoy modern art. Furniture, however, is another thing entirely! I love the simplicity and clean lines of modern furniture.

I think the pattern wouldn't be as noticeable if the shape of the headboard wasn't so hideous. With that much pattern, they should've gone simple on the headboard shape. It was quite jarring for me. But like you, I love the rest of the home.

The sculpture above the fireplace is terrific! On the other hand the green padded fabric headboard with multiple patterns in one of the bedrooms...not so much... there is nothing in there that ties it all together. I would replace the green aspects of the room and find something that will tie it all together ---- then again, I don't live there !

Her work is phenomenal. I’m in love with the kitchen- especially the oversized tile on range wall. Sometimes very modern kitchens don’t do it for me but this one had all the right stuff. It is a work of art. As others have said the fireplace/sculpture and that rich colored den 😛drooling. I loved it all.
