Well Said, sir. I'm a drywall installer for 40 years and this show was spot on, What I like the best you explained it in a small area to better educate a DIY Homeowner, I like the detailed steps that make a difference to any beginner or myself who been away from it for so long and needed a reminder, I thank you for a job well done. A message to everyone looking at this video, excellent instructions and well said with this show, I'm certain your project will be well done, and proud of your DIY.

He is very thorough in this video. I used it to do knockdown for my first time ind it is super simple. Takes a little bit to figure out how you want the sprayer to spray, but the knockdown is super easy. I used an 18 inch knockdown squeegee and was just fine. Most important thing to take from this video is the dry time. As he points out that when it starts to lose that glistening effect is when you start the knockdown.

Great info! Just completed a knockdown ceiling in a bedroom and bathroom, had uneven drywall thicknesses after a remodel and this texture did the trick! Looks perfect! Used a hopper/gun bought at harbor freight with a medium tip. Be sure to purchase the valve and air chuck fittings, as they are sold separate!!!

35 years in the industry and texturing is not popular in the NE but in Florida it is everywhere. We are going to start using sprayers to refinish popcorn removal so since you have the sprayer we will be doing more texturing on repairs. Good help.

I’ve probably done close to $100,000 of improvements on my new/“old” home. It was all done from his videos. Front double door install, walls, cabinets, flooring, windows, light fixtures, wall removals, gutters, plumbing, new bathrooms, etc. By far the most thorough contractor on the internet. Always gives alternative methods and tools to get the job done. Very detail oriented and explains the process/mistakes you may make

Great video and explanation. I've watched several other videos in my preparation today to do the texture step and this, by FAR, was the best video to give me an idea of not only what to do but also tips on waiting before the actual knockdown along with showing in real time how fast it was to do once everything was properly prepped (vids on knocking down the popcorn ceilings and remudding the ceiling did not prepare me for how long those steps take). I'm doing 2 bedrooms and I'm pretty confident that I can do the 10x10 room all in one go which is something I wasn't sure on before watching this. Thanks!

I bought a cheap sprayer from Harbor Freight and used my pancake compressor to do one whole room. I thinned out Plus 3 and used that as texture for an orange peel look. An air shut off valve on the gun would have been a HUGE help and I was really surprised that the compressor was sufficient. It was a real mess, but it covered up all of my poor drywall work.

I'm getting ready to do a large living room, hallway and a big bedroom. Nervous because I've never done knockdown before. I've done some drywall wall replacement and some repairs and they have turned out pretty good, but I go really slow and spray very little. I got 8 day-to-day do all drywall, primer, paint and then do hardwood floors. Your video really put me at ease on application of the ceiling work. I let mud dry a day before I prime and paint. How long do you let your mud dry on the ceiling and walls??? I don't do this for a living, but do need a professionals answer. Thank, gonna be watching this a couple more times and somepractice aswell.

So I am assuming you found its a good idea to store as much air as possible in your tanks? I have a little tip for you what I did and I use for air brush, paint gun for cars, and now the hopper gun get yourself a tiny little pressure control valve with gauge and put it right on the end of the gun leave valve open all the way and now you can adjust pressure to whatever application you need it for so you have full control. 🙂
