@Phoenix-2142 жыл бұрын
While it wasn't ever exactly diagnosed, I'm pretty sure I was suffering from clinical depression for several years, after my mother died in front of me. Cancer. You don't quite...feel _nothing,_ but you _do_ feel very little, you feel tired, you feel uninvested. It's not sadness, it's apathy and a lack of energy. A lack of _life._ Maybe you're not in agony or constantly walking around with puffy red eyes, but I wouldn't wish that on anyone. It's like being in a dream, looking at and listening to everything from underwater with a color-draining filter over your eyes. If you ever feel this way, get help. And by "help," I don't necessarily mean a therapist. You need someone or something to care about. A reason to care. A reason to want to do more than survive, but to _live._ It's a physiological condition, your brain chemistry's all fucked. There's often a...breakthrough moment where you start to feel things normally again. It isn't an instant fix but it's fairly rapid once the process starts. What these two patients had was even worse. I guarantee those smiles they let out were sign of a near-euphoric rush of fresh feelings. They'll never forget that moment.

I dont think you need to feel anything to know and remember what it means. This part they got all wrong, but sure... "what would be the point?" It's the question that people still ask themselves even if they are surrounded, generally happy, but don't live much excitement. Its not because they need excitement or purpose, but rather because they believe in whatever words they think they need to acquire to be fulfilled. Life is pointless unless you let meaning latch onto certain words you know. Being a person of principles makes it very easy to live without asking yourself these questions in spiral without being able to get out of the loops you created for yourself. Good moral principles, that is. It allows you to surround yourself and then you can live a happy life... maybe even strive towards happiness, but knowing you don't need it to live certain very happy and valuable memories. Then, you can even believe that these memories are your happiness. What is wonderful is that nobody can take them away from you.

I, for one, though I have never sleepwalked (from what my family tells me), do make a point of memorizing my house with my eyes closed just in case a power outage goes on overnight. This happened to me too. I was confronted at the door by my dad, awoken by the noise I made. He asked what was I doing, to which I replied: 'I have to go the storage room.' I repeated this line three times before coming to my senses. Spookiest thing is, the storage was in a separate building. Who knows where I would've ended up

Once I sleepwalked from my cottage in our backyard to our house about 30 m away. The cottage is a place where I sleep, basically another house. I got up, didn't put clothes on, took the keys, managed to open the door, go to the main building, and open the door and say: I want to sleep at the sofa" to my mom. When I woke up I was thinking why did I come to the main building for no reason, I can only recall the part when I came in the house at 1 pm and go to the sofa.
