1:00 if anyone doesn’t understand this, from the perspective of someone who does have fairly bad adhd, and who takes a stimulant to correct the worst issues, this is caused by your nerves firing off incorrect or a massive amount of signals. It happens quite a lot in people, like me, who have partial seizures or who over stress and it’s usually a clear sign that you’re taking the wrong thing and you should switch medications. Or, sometimes, it can just mean that you’re stressing your body too much and not getting enough rest which can result in either spasms or a full collapse of function in the limb. Stress combined with a stimulant can cause the heart to beat hard and quick which means your heart is working harder to get blood to every part of the body and this can often make sleeping tough. These symptoms can eventually lead to constant lightheadedness (low blood pressure), blackouts, or even muscle spasms and psychotic behavior in the very worst cases. I’m no doctor but i’ve had to deal with leveling out and understanding the affects these medications can have on your physical and mental health from a very young age. And although you could see some fairly psychotic behavior exhibited by people who take these types of medication it is a far stretch to assume these medications could in any way cause full blown delusions without there being any previous family history of mental illness or psychotic behavior. I also understand now that my specific medication can cause severe depression. I now understand that I have Mdd. I now understand that I was very unstable just a year ago because of the affect my medication had on me. And I now understand that sometimes antidepressants and counseling is the only option because even off my medication i’m still depressed my adhd meds just exacerbate the issue. So, basically, know what you’re getting into before you make the decision to go for medication.

House is wrong on Ritalin, and it’s more like meth with a G rating unlike all the other ADHD mood regulator medications which are either meth on PG or PG-13 ratings.
@nathanmiller97853 жыл бұрын
Wrong. Ritalin, from a pharmacology perspective, is much more similar to cocaine than methamphetamine. Ritalin is not an amphetamine and it’s not a dopamine releasing agent, it’s a dopamine reuptake inhibitor, just like cocaine is.

I'll never get parents that take their kids to the hospital to visit relatives in horrible shape. It's one thing visiting someone who had an accident or are recovering, but making a daughter watch her mother spasm around creepily and then keep her around after she has a sudden case of mood swinging and psychosis? It's just plain stupid and traumatizing to the kid in question.
