Yes second opinions are so important! I had something not nearly as bad but I had green urine and a completely rigid stomach with giant lymph nodes and my doctor gave me every test: ultrasounds (internal and external), STi tests, ulcer tests, stool samples, blood tests and absolutely nothing. I went to a second doctor and they asked what medications I was taking an how long I was taking them for. I had been on Naproxen 1000mg on and off for 10 years and was taking it 3 times a week at the time. She said to stop taking them. Everything went away. my normal doctor almost blasted my ovaries with the radiation from a ct scan because she didn't have any ideas left and this other doctor just said stop taking those pills and try these new ones that are gentle on the stomach.

The only downside to the Erdheim-Chester Disease episode is knowing that it would have been tested positive even when asymptomatic, plus they tested for histiocytosis and that would have been positive since ECD is a form of histiocytosis. The true side is that it’s treatable, but it’ll always be there for anyone who ends up with it and it’s a lifelong medication plan for which I dread to think of the costs in the US. It is rare though. There’s only been a little over 1500 cases since its discovery in 1930 with two cases and the third case wasn’t discovered until 1972. It does usually hit over 50’s with 75% of the cases being male. I just I’d share this with you fine folk.

I STILL have a problem with the spelling of ESTHER. WHY NOT ERNESTHINE. ESTER IS ESTER. JUST AS EASTER IS EASTER, NOT EASTHER

Now make this Dr. House more in tune with reality- life saving care for those with really good health insurance. Anyone without insurance sit in the back of the bus while those on medicaid get minimal care. The value of your right to live depends on how much money you have.

In the states. In decent countries you have healthcare.

Can someone help me understand what happened in the last scenario.

not exactly sure myself, but I think the redhead gave the girl medication that caused her heart to slow down. she did this to show the parents how bad things could get and force them to sign the amputation consent form. she personally thought that risking your life to sail, which was the patient’s lifelong dream, wasn’t worth it so she “pulled a House”.
