Cameron was insufferable for this entire episode. She told the husband he was a bad person for being angry that his wife cheated on him. The husband was completely faithful to his wife and was by her side the whole episode right up until he found out she was unfaithful. Not only that, but she cheated on her husband with his close friend. That’s pretty shitty man. And Cameron still tried to convince the husband to stay and that his wife loved him. The husband was right when he said, “How can you love someone and do that to them?” I hate that they narrow cheating down to something simple by calling it a “mistake.” Cheating isn’t a mistake, it’s a deliberate choice. Accidentally backing over something in the driveway, that’s a mistake. Banging someone that isn’t your spouse, that isn’t a mistake, you chose to do that. She’s not sad that she did it, she’s sad that she got caught cause she was willing to die to keep it a secret from him. Good on the husband for leaving her, I would’ve left her too tbh.

After watching the entire episode i don't get Cameron's logic at all. The only thing she says to House after calling the husband a bad person is that she married a dying man and sticked with him till he died. The husband does literally the same thing. He puts his trust in her, and stays with her the entire time hoping that she didn't cheat on him. He says that a part of him doesn't want her to get better because that part hopes that she wouldn't try to solve marriage problems by cheating. Only after she gets better and presumably tells him about the affair with his BEST FRIEND, he feels like she crossed the line and leaves her. There is a reason for rule "best friend's significant other is a no go" to be sacred rule of friendship. People saying that husband is bad because he wishes for his wife to die, only to prove her loyalty should turn on their brains. I find it amusing when the female cheats and the man can't deal with it, can't forgive, has to leave. Its not usually so the other way around. I think its hard to bear but can be overcome especially if it was not a continuous affair.

@victorpradha99462 жыл бұрын
A bit? Cameron later says that she had an opportunity to be unfaithful to her dying husband with a friend that provided her moral support as he got worse. She did NOT take the friend up on the offer. On some level, Cameron wished that she had. Thus, she's sympathetic to the wife, but oddly UNSYMPATHETIC to the husband. Why? Because if the husband rejects the wife for her infidelity, it would like Cameron's husband rejecting her had she actually gone through with the offer posed by the friend. Cameron insinuated herself into the position of the wife in her mind.

8:20 I disagree. I take faithfulness very seriously. I'm not married, but I would not be able to handle my wife cheating on me and would leave her, because I put every effort into not sleeping with anyone already due to my christian faith, and IF I get married I would be solely hers. Men are chastised so much for being unfaithful and you wanna throw double standards and say it's fine for women to do it because it's a mistake? If it's not r*** then she actively chose to defy you and break the bond between you, abusing your trust in her. If she did it once then who's to say she won't do it again? I cannot even fathom trusting my wife after she betrays me in the worst way possible. So no he is not a bad person for valuing faithfulness and trust in a partner. And wanting her to not get better from this treatment as proof in his mind that his trust was not misplaced, as a way to cope with the situation and potential discovery, then no he's not a bad person. He wants her to get better, but if it means she did cheat on him, then if it were me then the relationship would be over as soon as we walk out of that hospital. Or if she needs me to stay to care for her for a set period of time, then I will stay until she is fully recovered. Some people are WAY too open and accepting of one of the most disgraceful acts against your partner, where's your value in marriage these days? Again, men are chastised so often about one "mistake" and then you're going to throw that "mistake" bs at him? No screw you he is NOT a horrible person.

The drug is called Melarsoprol. The thing dissolving plastic in the drug is just propylene glycol, literally the main component of some antifreeze (since the drug is insoluble in water and propylene glycol is nontoxic (side remark: That doesn't mean that all the stuff in all antifreeze is nontoxic, don't drink that!)) The biohazard symbol is not applicable, unless they would transfer the used glass syringes back in that case. It is clearly just for effect in the show.

What bugs me about this scene is that what he's expressing is a reasonable feeling. Emphasis on feeling. He's expressing a struggle with the idea of her infidelity and subsequent dishonesty, that he can't work through yet because she's not awake. While he waits for her to get better he's just stuck stewing on it. He's human too, in an incredibly stressful situation - his wife is dying in the hospital, and the only proposed cure both has a 10% mortality rate and only works if she had an affair. He's not at his best, he can't take the time to go to therapy right now, and he really just needs to be reassured that it's reasonable to feel conflicted and to struggle in this moment. If he really would rather she died he wouldn't have authorized the treatment. It just sucks to dunk on someone who's in the worst moment of their life instead of reassuring them that their dark thoughts (not actions) are human and they can choose to be better than them later.
