if you're curious about the ending, house was right about the allergy, but not the allergen. the patient wasn't allergic to chrysanthemums, he was allergic to quinine. his character in the soap opera drank a lot of G&Ts, but obviously the actor couldn't be drinking real alcohol during filming. he couldn't have gin on set, but he COULD drink tonic water. quinine is an anti-parasite drug used as malaria treatment on its own, but it's also added to tonic water to give it that bitter flavor. quinine allergies aren't super uncommon, but every once in a while the allergic reaction can lead to multi-organ failure

@@anthonywilliams7052 I am not a medical doctor but I am disabled and dealing with several very rare diagnoses, which has basically put me through bootleg med school 😂 you're totally allowed to ask questions, if I don't have an answer I can at least help you find information or tell you who to see for help
@anthonywilliams7052 Жыл бұрын
@@londonm3161 Hmmm, looks like we have a little in common, I'm disabled too but for my back, L5-s1 herniated and compression of the nerve, spinal arthritis.... not fun, a lot of back pain. I've recently seen some things that might help both of us, healing and immunity in general. PEMF (pulsed magnetic field) helps some things and increases circulation and healing. I've seen various papers on it and it seems promising but I'm sure you know how the doctors trained by the drug companies look at that. It is approved and studied by the Mayo Clinic for now for helping healing and pain. The other thing is from a DR Jack Kruise talking about using cold that somehow really boosts the immune system. He even injected himself with a staff to test in and didn't get an infection somehow. I originally thought this sounded like BS but the more I learn about it and how it's been used in the past it seems there might be something to it. Not sure I'd want to be in cold water but if you work up to it then it might be worth it. I have an electronics engineering background and the more I see new papers and ideas talking about recharging the cellular system and how it affects healing, the more I'm fascinated about it. There's a video called "Dr. Jerry Tennant: Healing is Voltage" which I initially doubted but I've seen similar information many places since then all saying the same things. Dr Tennant has some kind of device that helps too but I've seen in other places Vitamin C also adds electrons to the cells, another way of recharging the cellar system. I'm still learning about this but it sounds like you'd also be interested even if just out of curiosity. Maybe it can help you too. They want to give me these very painful medial nerve blocks for a second time and completely take med too, I finally just said take me off, and it's not fun so far. I'm looking to try the cold water and PEMF if I can just find a place that does it. I'm in the Dayton Oh area and can't find it anywhere or a doctor that even knows what it is. I'm working on building my own version and hoping that would help but wish I had a professional version so if it's not working I know it wasn't just not being strong enough pulses. Apparently, the cold has been used for thousands of years by monks to boost immunity. I don't know if you heard about these things but I'd like to know your opinion on them.
