Thank you Jeff! So many gorgeous plants. I've learned with two orbifolias (one in bathroom, other in living room) that they like to have consistently moist soil. Also, that they are not for newbies; I now avoid calatheas. My greatest success in this family is a Ctenanthe setosa that is thriving in homemade pon.

I definitely don't let the orbifolia dry out and I also try and use distilled water or at least filtered water

Lovely plant collection in your sitting room. It is hard to keep plants near the door way. The big table i would replace it with a tall plant stand instead to save place and put the plants on it. And the big ficus can be move more in away from the doorway to avoid damage. The bumps on the leaves on your jade could be Edema when excess water accumulates in plant tissue causing swellings that can look like blisters on your succulents.

Upstairs is just different types of plants...more common ones. There are many I absolutely love. I will be replacing some duplicate plants, like some pothos, with philodendron and anthurium. I hope it didn't come off as boring or anything like that....
@MarisaAndChew2 жыл бұрын
@@EverythingPlants not boring at all! I just found it amusing that you had so many upstairs that you said you weren't really sure why you were still holding onto and downstairs you've got all the more rare show stopper types. Obviously, you love your Jade that's upstairs and a few others, but it almost feels like if you put the basement plants upstairs and the upstairs plants down, that you would probably neglect them BC they don't seem to fuel that very obvious passion you have for the basement plants. 🤔 Do you have an adansonii or did I miss it? My turtles have been very thirsty little things this winter. I went from watering them once in 3 months to watering them about once every 10 days now. They're still in a 4 inch grow pot but they're getting long and the baby turtles are microscopic and cute! I wonder if perlite is heavy enough to grow them in. I'd like to ditch the grow pot and use this tall wine glass style thing (I've got the grow pot in it now), but I don't really want to see dirt. 🤔
